Watching Love throw to wide open guys not moving is pretty useless to me. It’s all going to come down to what he does in a game with a rush in front of him. I just can’t get past how atrocious he looked against the Chiefs in a real game.

Every competent DC we face is going to blitz the &%$@ out of him until he proves he won’t !@#$ his pants in the face of a rush.
Almost every rookie QB can do what Love did in that vid, most can also hit a moving target regularly, I agree, he'll have to prove he can make quick decisions and throw accurate passes under pressure, till I'am convinced of that I'll remain a bit skeptical, the best thing to happen for Love is sitting for 3 years which allowed his mind to develop and adapt to the increased speed at the nfl level.

everyone wants Love to be successful, some of us seem more realistic about it, it's not as though QB success is a given, theres a shortage of good ones for a reason

What he wants is to sit on the fence so that he can say "I told you so. You should have listened to me". Of course many of us want to be able to say "You should have listened to me" but most of us do not sit on the fence so that we can say it regardless of what happens.

It often appears to me that there are some on this forum who would rather be "right" about something than see the Packers successful. I cannot comprehend that way of thinking.

I'm with you Willie. But I do comprehend. We live in a diverse world where people are constantly pushing agendas from all sorts of angles. Some people just basically fill their minds with concepts that are simply undefendable, and refuse to shake the undefendable concepts loose. And some don't even know they're doing this.

We've been so spoiled for so long that this is kind of exciting for me. Let's see how well Gute did in picking the successor. No clue if Love will suck, be serviceable, or another HOF, but I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Plus we may see a different MLF too because he can run his offense and not have to mold it to what Rodgers liked.

He throws dimes. I always remember watching Aaron in person just looked different than watching the other QB when I would be at camp.

Jordan Love has that "different" look when he releases balls.
He has amazing arm talent, but I will say, even in that eagles game, his ball placement is fairly consistently just a teensy bit off—usually slightly behind. That can/should improve with timing and turn and first team reps together, but it was notable to me.

And I agree he throws the ball different. It literally takes adjusting to for me. It’s difficult not to see the ball jumping out of his hand as wrong in some way because it’s so different than so many guys I’m used to watching, but the ball spins tight and gets where it’s going, so yeah, I’ll adjust my eyes
Interesting. I thought there was tremendous accuracy improvement in 2022 (I don't think you will argue this as his accuracy was pretty bad pre 2022). I do think there was some slight inaccuracy in the Vikings game but overall I was happy with the ball placement in that Eagles game. I just thought some of his decisions on 2 plays in the Eagles game could have been better.

But I also wonder if the accuracy perception by me was skewed because #12 was by and large not accurate in 2022 and my perception changed of what accuracy is supposed to look like.

I can't help but notice you refuse to let go of a judgment you made about Love from two years ago while, at the same time, completely ignoring the more recent performance he had in a live game setting against the eventual conference SB representative. Those were two individual performance flashes in his progression that should provide greater insight when combined. Instead, you choose to weigh the former as all-encompassing while completely ignoring the latter.

It's almost like you wish him to remain that 2021 QB vs KC so that he remains the centerpiece in your Gutebumst narrative...?

What I find so funny about this story is there is a group who can't let go of the 2021 KC performance but then when 12 did the same thing, if not worse, vs teams like Washington, the Jets, or Lions, this same group of people literally only talks about how poor the supporting cast was and "how could you expect" language started coming out.

Like I completely respect it is harder when pressure is in the face. But the double standard in these two situations is mind blowing to me.

I've never sat on the fence about anything here, my first choice was for Rodgers to finish the 3 year contract right here because I believe he gives us the best chance to win, I disliked the Love draft pick, just as others here have, but defended Love when others called him a bust a year ago, if anyone will be doing the "I told you so's" around here it'll be you if Love becomes successful.

The Eagles game is not real to me. That game was over when he came in. He looked good in garbage time which isn’t a real evaluation point for me.

One of the Eagles defenders (CB Slay) said that they were not playing easier while Love was in the game.

Isn't to them either, but they'll never say it, you can see it in the effort of there pass rush, there coverage, the 2 times they did rush hard Love threw tough to catch passes that where not caught.

pass rush turns accurate passers into not so accurate passers.

OMG, WTF would you expect Slay to say? come on, you and others act so dumb founded when it supports your narrative.

someone brought a vid of all of Loves passes last year, go look at the pass rush.

The game was not over. It was getting there, but Love was about to make it real interesting, but Philly's offense was a bit too much at the end.

:thwap:

Slay doesn't have an interest in making Love look good; they're not teammates.

If anything, he had more of an interest to cover for his D getting whipped by saying they were not playing tough defense.

By the way,
someone brought a vid of all of Loves passes last year, go look at the pass rush.
your reflexive reaction to shoot down something possibly encouraging about Love while not reacting similarly to reasons for concern shows the true direction of your bias. You are not, in fact, hoping for his success.

BS, I've supported Love for his whole 3 seasons, even supported him in both games played last year, but I commented back then he was playing in garbage time, what I wont go along with, and what bothers some of you is that I wont go along with dissing Rodgers to support Love, and if that to you means I don't want Love to do well so be it, I don't need to defend my fan ship to you or anyone else here.

obviously Slay was defending his defense, that was my point, duh
