Reggie White is somewhere smiling...
I just read that 42% of the Bears' passing yards were from the trick play.

Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."

This is an excellent picture of where we stand right now. High highs and low lows.
Also, the Packers allowed 17 points in their first half of football, then no more than 7 points in any subsequent half (6, 7, 3 to be exact).
Clean up that second half run defense (and tackling, as others mentioned), and treat elite WRs like they're special instead of running roughshod through zone coverages, and I feel good.

Tampa Bay's WR group is a mess at the moment.
No Mike Evans. Godwin & Julie Jones will be hobbled if they are able to play. Cole Beasley picked up off the street this week, Scotty Miller, and Russell Gage are likely the top 3.
Gronk is gone at TE.
The Bucs' offensive line is potentially in worse shape than the WRs as the backup LT is out after starting last Sunday in New Orleans and the starting LT iffy to return to the lineup and the starting C is on IR.
Fournette remains a running threat as he has rushed 45 times for 192 yards but the other TB RBs have a combined 15 yards.
There is no GOOD reason for the defense to come out soft on Sunday. If the Packers sit back and allow TB12 to dink and dunk his way down the field that would be a strategic failure.
Other than the standard caveat of poor STs play or offensive turnovers giving TB great field position, there is no reason that the defense should give up more than 20 points on Sunday.
Get er done down in Tampa Packer D!

The best part of yesterday's performance is that Fournette rushed 12 times for 35 yards and TB had 34 yards rushing in total. Very well done.
The pass rush was decent and, until the final drive, the coverage was quite good as well.
Q forcing that Perriman fumble in the first half was a momentum turner.
Pending the outcome of tonight's game, the Pack's defensive scoring ranking will either #6 or #8 in the NFL. 15 points given up per game is not too shabby.
And yes, it helped playing Tampa Bay without their starting left tackle and top 3 wide receivers but you play who is on your schedule and Jaire was out for most of the game as well.
Looks like the defense caught another break with New England likely to be without their starting QB on Sunday.
Will do a deeper dive into the Patriots' offense, but given that they scored 7, 17, and 26 points in their first 3 games with Mac Jones at QB, I see no reason to not expect the defense to hold NE to 17 or fewer points at Lambeau.

Yeah, I've seen Brady carve up enough defenses with crappy WR cores so I'm willing to chalk it up as a really good defensive performance.
We are averaging holding the opponent to 15 points per game and that is still only 6th to 8th in the league?!
It's a no-name defense for sure.

This sounded absolutely crazy until I realized the Steelers haven't even had 4 let alone 5 coaches since Vince Lombardi was a coach of the Green Bay Packers.

Brady has always been able to score easier with guys like Gronk. Without Gronk, he still makes many completions. But his offense is less dynamic. Could say the same about Packer offense right now. Oh, if only we had more production from TE.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!
The last defensive series from the TB game.
Has Joe Barry had a press conference or given a statement sharing his thoughts on the defensive calls on this series? I mean, they were giving such big cushions Brady could’ve had me playing WR and he would have led the offense down the field. Just ugly stuff.

I was super disappointed with how they started that drive. Basically just an invitation to get in rhythm.

I couldn't dislike a game tape any more.APB wrote: ↑26 Sep 2022 21:52The last defensive series from the TB game.
