From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
the Niners and NE seem like agent rumors to me to get the Jets deal done
Probably, at present.
But it remains my position that it would be a lot easier to find another Rodgers trade partner than it would be for the jets to find another QB with Rodgers’ capability in 2023.
These rumors point to at least enough interest to have fallback options. Point is: the Packers won’t get left stick with his contact. The Jets might get stuck without a high level QB.

Oh, you say the Packers have the leverage?

Its a weird entanglement ( menage ?) for sure.
MLF, Saleh and Shanahan all know each other very well and they all run a variation of the same offense
9ers and Jets both poised to make a run
9ers have a former QB at QB coach, Brian Griese, that's attractive to AR
My proposal

I looked over SF's roster and don't see any real trade targets. All the worthwhile guys are stars who they will not want to part with because they are making a push, yet they don't really have any position where they are stacked and can expend a good player. Best I could realistically think of was Juaun Jennings (meh).
They will have to offer their 2024 1st for us to even consider a trade with them. And tbh, that's not very lucrative. Barring injury, SF with Rodgers is an almost surefire playoff team, even more assuredly than him with NYJ, so you are looking at a pick somewhere in the 20s.

49ers offense falls from efficient and potent to mediocre and underwhelming without Kittle. Can't see them doing that.
I also think that while it's totally fun to think about these alternatives, we're way ahead of ourselves here. Right now, these other teams exist only to provide extra leverage for us.

How about Brandon Aiyuk?
$2.3M this year, $14.1M next year on 5th year option? Hasn't been a breakout star, but been steadily improving, crack 1K yards and had 8 TD's.
Aiyuk been mentioned in trade rumors already. Not sure why, perhaps the 9ers don't plan on giving him the 20M+ extension he'll likely need.
Not really sure how that would effect trade comp, if Packers are looking for solid 1st round value, trade would almost be straight up Rodgers for Aiyuk? Maybe some filler one way or the other.
If the trade did go the way of the Niners, wouldn’t Guty expect two (or more) of their 3rd round picks (as the Niners have no 1st round pick)? This would be in addition to any conditional pick next year.

Aiyuk been mentioned in trade rumors already. Not sure why,
Aiyuk has been in Kyle's doghouse since he arrived in SF. I don't know all the particulars, but Kyle called him out on more than one occasion
There were some rumblings that GB was interested in 2020 when SF jumped in front of the Packers to snag the WR.
Packers took Love with the next pick
"Aiyuk, who was in Kyle Shanahan's doghouse most of last season, is showcasing the work ethic Samuel showcases every offseason.
"Each year guys have, you learn stuff from it and you learn how hard this league is and guys usually go one or two ways each year," Shanahan said at 49ers OTAs. "They realize, 'Man, I have to put more work in and prepare for that long haul, or, 'Man, that was exhausting and I'm going to avoid that as long as I can, until I have to come back again.' And usually the ones who get better and better are the ones who figure out what they have to do during the season and in the offseason to prepare them for that."
Apparently, Guty implied that if the trade isn’t done by (or during) the draft, that “everything changes.” I didn’t see the article that would tell what “everything” means. Firewall thingy…

Post-draft is more cap-friendly for us to move Rodgers. 'Not overly jazzed with this draft class, so I won't be too broken up about it if we miss out on picks for this year.
