I don't even think we restructure. I think the Packers and Jaw might just plan on playing another year and keep the current deal in place.Acrobat wrote: ↑14 Mar 2025 10:46I have this crazy gut feeling that Jaire is going to choose to stay and agree to restructure his contract.Labrev wrote: ↑14 Mar 2025 07:20We do gain something—a significant amount of cap space. If we keep him for another season, his cap number balloons even further next year and it's already a very high number for a guy who can't play a full season (struggles to play even double digit games). We didn't try to make him take a pay cut, and he's already costing us an arm and a leg for a guy who misses a lot of games.
I think we're holding onto him for a draft-day trade, and will cut him loose if we don't move him.

Good post. But then it begs the question if there are any remaining "mistakes" on the roster. (You kicked over the bucket of worms. I just helped the worms come out of the can! lol)NCF wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 14:49I have read quotes from Ron Wolf, Ted Thompson, and Brian Gutekunst that have said something to the effect of: "You use Free Agency to fix mistakes you made in The Draft".
2024
Xavier McKinney (2019 Darnell Savage)
Josh Jacobs (2020 AJ Dillon)
2025
Aaron Banks (2021 Josh Myers)
Nate Hobbs (2021 Eric Stokes)
How about that huge class from 2019? Not as direct, but still there.
Za'Darius Smith (2016 Kyler Fackrell)
Preston Smith (2017 Vince Biegel)
Adrian Amos (2017 Josh Jones)
Billy Turner (2016 Jason Spriggs)
Maybe we should have zeroed in on these guys a little more closely.
:-)
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!
I would think you would hear that comment from most GM's, however it really doesn't help outside of replacing a player, that ya missed on 3 or 4 years prior, that's to long, and teams attempt to do so sooner, sometimes the very next draft.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑15 Mar 2025 11:46Good post. I've said for a long time that it is impossible to build a top shelf defense minus trades or UFA, we watched Ted try till Guty took over and bought us some pass rushers, we watched ted miss on lbers and safeties repeatedly, even more on D liners, Both He and Ron Wolf hated UFA, it's impossible to keep stud players, often they (like Gary for instance) finally produce in the run up to second contract, want big money, and now your stuck with giving in to contract demands, or ya lose em, UFA is good for the players, not the teams.
now we see receivers getting 40 mil per, the owners are going to come down hard on the players for the next contract, I would expect a strike or even lose half the season in a lockout

One option is for us fans to revert to the 1970s/1980s Green Bay mentality and simply keep expectations low. Rely on the Packers for entertainment and partying and tailgating purposes only. Just go to or watch the games and have a blast. Take "pounding" to a whole new level.Yoop wrote: ↑15 Mar 2025 12:43I would think you would hear that comment from most GM's, however it really doesn't help outside of replacing a player, that ya missed on 3 or 4 years prior, that's to long, and teams attempt to do so sooner, sometimes the very next draft.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑15 Mar 2025 11:46Good post. I've been to 12 NFL stadiums and I would say the rankings are pretty much in line with my expectations. Only one that surprised me was Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. I had that one slightly lower than Mercedez Benz in Atlanta but overall I think they got it right.
Also lived in Cincy for 2 years and the Reds have a beautiful ball park. Glad it's getting recognized.

Lambeau is the greatest, but I haven't been to that many, we also have the most extensive fan base in existence so that also helps our rating
Baseball is restricted to Wrigley and Sox Park mostly, plus a couple of games at Milwaukee county stadium to see the Brewers, and Wrigley was the best by far of those 3

I wonder what is considered in the rankings. I thought Fiserv was awesome, but I had the most fun outside the building. I wish Lambeau would add some gameday congregation areas outside with giant viewing screens.

Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
I mean you can't really make that statement if you haven't been to others to compare to.
Personally from my experience Lambeau is a cut above. The most impressive features include:
1. Get to actually make it a football weekend. No other stadium offers football activities on non Game Day like Lambeau does. Eating at Pub 1919/Curly's, Hall of Fame, Stadium Tours, Tundra Zone...You can spend Friday evening and Saturday at Lambeau in football glory. You can't do that at other places.
2. The seating is insane. You are so close to the field. Gets me every time.
3. Pre game is the most friendly, welcoming, community based. No other place has offered the friendly comradery that Lambeau does.
And I have heard this from many fans of opposing teams that have said the same thing so I too am confident Lambeau is right up there.
I think having a giant viewing area with the Packers Pre Game show on the Packers Radio Network being conducted LIVE would be a good idea. Get people amped for the game.
sure I can, and fan appreciation backs me up, I used to sit 20 rows back on the 45 yrd line section 120, they don't get any better than that, right behind the Packer bench over the years, my uncle had a 4 seat package right there since 1957, but turned back in 15 years ago after my cousin died, never had the cash to go to stadiums around the country like you, are you here gloating over your ability to do that.go pak go wrote: ↑19 Mar 2025 11:14I mean you can't really make that statement if you haven't been to others to compare to.

The point @go pak go appears to be making is that you can't really make the statement that Lambeau is the greatest if you haven't been to a number of other stadiums to contrast it with. Nobody here disputes what you're saying about the Lambeau gameday experience being great...but so are a lot of other venues. To rank them sight unseen seems a bit disingenuous.Yoop wrote: ↑19 Mar 2025 11:43sure I can, and fan appreciation backs me up, I used to sit 20 rows back on the 45 yrd line section 120, they don't get any better than that, right behind the Packer bench over the years, my uncle had a 4 seat package right there since 1957, but turned back in 15 years ago after my cousin died, never had the cash to go to stadiums around the country like you, are you here gloating over your ability to do that.go pak go wrote: ↑19 Mar 2025 11:14I mean you can't really make that statement if you haven't been to others to compare to.

This is such an underrated feature with Lambeau. There is literally not a bad seat in the house. Even the upper level seating is close enough to observe sideline and field of play activity that you don't get at many other stadiums.
Take FedEx Field as an example in contrast. There are a ton of obstructed view seats and the ones in the upper level feel like you're a mile from the action.
I'm not gloating at all. I'm simply stating you can't really say Lambeau is the best if you have nothing to compare it to. The better way to state it is...I've been to Lambeau Field and it's awesome.Yoop wrote: ↑19 Mar 2025 11:43sure I can, and fan appreciation backs me up, I used to sit 20 rows back on the 45 yrd line section 120, they don't get any better than that, right behind the Packer bench over the years, my uncle had a 4 seat package right there since 1957, but turned back in 15 years ago after my cousin died, never had the cash to go to stadiums around the country like you, are you here gloating over your ability to do that.go pak go wrote: ↑19 Mar 2025 11:14I mean you can't really make that statement if you haven't been to others to compare to.

I used to say there is no better place in the world to live than in Sioux Falls, South Dakota (mind you I never lived anywhere else)...and then I moved to other areas and concluded that there are other great places to live besides Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls is great. But Lauderdale, MN in the twin cities is also great. Also absolutely loved my little nook in Cincinnati and short time in the Triangle in North Carolina and Pheonix (I could absolutely see myself living in the Raleigh/Durham area). Pheonix is awesome for 8 months of the year.
