We do gain something—a significant amount of cap space. If we keep him for another season, his cap number balloons even further next year and it's already a very high number for a guy who can't play a full season (struggles to play even double digit games). We didn't try to make him take a pay cut, and he's already costing us an arm and a leg for a guy who misses a lot of games.

I think we're holding onto him for a draft-day trade, and will cut him loose if we don't move him.

I have this crazy gut feeling that Jaire is going to choose to stay and agree to restructure his contract.

I would think you would hear that comment from most GM's, however it really doesn't help outside of replacing a player, that ya missed on 3 or 4 years prior, that's to long, and teams attempt to do so sooner, sometimes the very next draft.

I've said for a long time that it is impossible to build a top shelf defense minus trades or UFA, we watched Ted try till Guty took over and bought us some pass rushers, we watched ted miss on lbers and safeties repeatedly, even more on D liners, Both He and Ron Wolf hated UFA, it's impossible to keep stud players, often they (like Gary for instance) finally produce in the run up to second contract, want big money, and now your stuck with giving in to contract demands, or ya lose em, UFA is good for the players, not the teams.
now we see receivers getting 40 mil per, the owners are going to come down hard on the players for the next contract, I would expect a strike or even lose half the season in a lockout

I wonder what is considered in the rankings. I thought Fiserv was awesome, but I had the most fun outside the building. I wish Lambeau would add some gameday congregation areas outside with giant viewing screens.

I mean you can't really make that statement if you haven't been to others to compare to.

Personally from my experience Lambeau is a cut above. The most impressive features include:

1. Get to actually make it a football weekend. No other stadium offers football activities on non Game Day like Lambeau does. Eating at Pub 1919/Curly's, Hall of Fame, Stadium Tours, Tundra Zone...You can spend Friday evening and Saturday at Lambeau in football glory. You can't do that at other places.

2. The seating is insane. You are so close to the field. Gets me every time.

3. Pre game is the most friendly, welcoming, community based. No other place has offered the friendly comradery that Lambeau does.

And I have heard this from many fans of opposing teams that have said the same thing so I too am confident Lambeau is right up there.

sure I can, and fan appreciation backs me up, I used to sit 20 rows back on the 45 yrd line section 120, they don't get any better than that, right behind the Packer bench over the years, my uncle had a 4 seat package right there since 1957, but turned back in 15 years ago after my cousin died, never had the cash to go to stadiums around the country like you, are you here gloating over your ability to do that. I guess I should feel jealous
