The weirdest part of the whole week was that aside from Lambeau and bear vicinity, the entire city was dead. So many business owners planned on increased traffic, and it just didn't happen. Still so awesome for the city but I know a free people that are pretty disappointed that they didn't see any boost in revenue and actually took a loss.

If acrobats report is true (I’m sure he’s a good source), it’s probably a combo of tons of locals just going back home and the very limited options to stay in actual Green Bay. I didn’t see as many visiting fans as usual (thinking of the mass exodus after our pick on Thursday), but I bet those fans came into GB for maybe a stadium tour, the pro shop, and the draft, and then went back to eat/party in Appleton or Milwaukee or wherever they could get reasonable hotel arrangements.

That said, as far as the tv product, great job org and great job locals

Yeah it was the most "home team" fans I have ever seen at a draft. It looked like Packers fans outnumbered everyone else 9 to 1.

Yep you guys are spot on. Literally everyone I know went to the draft. And there were so many food vendors at the stadium that I don't think people felt the need to go out after. And then for bars, you have several big ones by the stadium, so there just wasn't a huge need for people to venture outward like a lot of businesses imagined.

Happened to me my last time in Green Bay. Started drinking at 10am for a 4:15 kick. Literally was outside the stadium in 10 degrees before any of the official tailgates opened. Just soaking it all in. Then went to an official one with all you could drink and drank close to 20. Then went to game and it snowed and stayed after in the stadium and took pics. Then we went to a bar and I was starting to feel tapped out and told my homie I was gonna step outside and get some air and I sat down against the building and took a lil packer snooze about midnight. Woke up at 1 and he had called me about 10x looking for me. Then called the uber and went to where I was staying. Dont think I gave the bar much money, but I did appreciate the spot to snooze.

Other than the Clay Matthews incident, all of my sources loved the whole thing. Very Wisconsin as expected.

“Incident”? Even my Trump hater friends thought it was hilarious. Even my bears fan friend admitted it was a good one. It opened the floor to for Terrion Arnold and the wrestler to get their jokes off.

The most vocal Trump hater I know liked it bc he was like “oh here we go” when Matthews started but he executed the joke to perfection. I thought it was the perfect start and I’m not political

We couldn't even see Margaritas from the draft venue when we entered at Entrance 1, which was on that end. (Honestly, I unfortunately forgot about it. With Lombardi being closed, most people probably had no idea it was there.

We drove in from Minnesota (with 2 Viking fans) and rented an Airbnb 3 blocks from Lambeau. The majority of the people we met had never been to Green Bay.

1. Many of the people we met rented an Airbnb and were able to walk. The streets were packed. There were some shuttles from various places. We also ran into people from my original hometown that came in on buses chartered from the local bars. On Friday during the day we drove to Kewaunee to see the lighthouse and Lake Michigan, and we ran into some people at a local bar that were getting on a bus chartered by the bar.

2. There were so many activities, we didn't get to do everything we wanted to do. We attended the Booyah cookoff downtown. Drove to see Lake Michigan in Kewaunee. Then came back and went to the Draft area. We then moved on to Stadium View and watched the drone show from the upper level. Despite the rain and cold on Friday, we had the most amazing time that night.

Our Viking fan friends were flabbergasted by the whole thing and said it was the best large event they had ever attended. It was their first time to Green Bay. We are still giddy over the whole thing.

Green Bay nailed it!!!!!!!!!!!

It'll be interesting to see what opinions are after all the warm and fuzzy feelings wear off. As acrobat stated, it seem like 1 negative was the impact on the community outside of the draft area. How does the NFL really feel? They'll never say it out loud if there were other issues. I'm not saying there were any, but will be curious if anything else leaks out. By all accounts, it sounds like it went well. Maybe it won't be the last draft in GB.

I think both parties would absolutely do it again and if anything everyone knows what to expect now. If a lot of the small businesses and restaurants hadn't planned on they're being an increase in volume it would have been no harm no fall, but they're dealing with not only lack of customers but wasted inventory.
