I'd be super bummed if we didn't win another superbowl in my lifetime (don't really want to make it 94) but at least I'll never have to see the vikings win one :)
Me too, or slightly bummed if we fail to owl again, so grateful though that we've won 4 in my lifetime, and fortunate to not be a fan of the 12 teams who have no owls.

Your comment in parentheses has me stumped Matt? :idn:

He's saying he doesn't want to live long enough to be as old as you.

My grandma passed last winter at 94 years old. Her advice? Don't get this old.

I have no intention to. Live fast and hard.

This is a Matt LaFleur problem that needs to get fixed.

:aok: old age is different for people, my cousin is 94, she says about the same thing, mostly because she's the only one left of 9 off spring, and all her close friends have passed on, loneliness is what bothers her the most :aok:

yep, and I think he's learned that lesson, Kraft had so much more to give, and he failed to use him, minus that, I expect vast improvements from our passing this season, Love was so out of kilter because of injuries, receivers not processing the catch sequence, if that goes back to late 23 form, this offense can dominate any defense, add in Musgrave :aok:

Musgrave? Who is this Musgrave you speak of?

Seriously, I still have high hopes for him. If he can simply stay healthy.

Musgrave seriously needs to learn how to run block. His lack of physicality was my biggest concern for him. Felt it was worth the swing just based on how fast and big he was. But he plays like he’s a smaller WR.

TE IMO is like ILB. lots to learn to be good at this level, varied assignments on each and every play, so for a rookie to lose most of the season to injury is a huge set back, Musgrave has the wheels, size to be good, now he just needs to develop some muscle memory, I have high hopes for his success.

Much talk about the competition between Morgan and Rhyan. Apparently, Rhyan has already won. It's Walker who will take on the challenger.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Packers have held preliminary discussions with the agents for Rhyan and Walker. Rhyan might be the easier long-term deal to get done. Between Banks and Tom needing to get paid, not sure they can afford to give a top of the market deal to Walker. Jenkins will need to be re-done next offseason, as well, if he solidifies himself as the near-term Center.

No reason to keep Walker when we drafted Morgan. At some point we need to make use of the wasted draft capital. If we try to pay and keep Walker we are talking a $25M+ APY contract on top of Tom getting paid. Even keeping Rhyan is going to cost us upwards of $10M+ APY and might even be closer to what Banks just got.

I'm hoping Morgan beats out Walker. It would probably improve the overall run blocking of our offense and gives us long term financial flexibility up front.

I like Sheed, but I agree. I want Morgan to take that and run with it.

Tom is the clear priority re-sign, and after ponying up for Banks, I don't see us spending what will be needed to keep Rhyan. Just too much money to tie up into OG, and RG is a position where you can find playable options without too much problem.

For the same reason, yeah, you probably need to move on from Walker. As a starting LT, he will be even more expensive than Rhyan, and at his level of play, you are probably fine with it as a guy you took a flyer on in Round 7 and plays for el-cheapo, but probably decidedly less fine with it when you have to pay him the going rate for veteran starting LTs.

Whereas Morgan could develop to the point where you are fine with paying that kind of money at LT.

I would be thinking you might keep Rhyan and cut Jenkins a year early. Jenkins turns 30 this year. You save $25M with a $5M dead cap next offseason. Not awful. In terms of APY next year he will be the 2nd highest paid C. Id move off that contract so fast unless he truly is All Pro caliber. Give Monk another year of development and hope he is ready to step in or draft a guy early to play center in 2026.

Meanwhile you keep a 25 year old Rhyan on the roster with a 4 year extension at OG.

I'm with you on this. Jenkins contract will need to be dealt with next offseason. I could see an extension if he plays really well. I could also see them go another route. I wouldn't be surprised if they draft another prospect this year. Not sure Monk is ever going to get there. I think if I am Sean Rhyan, a discount on an extension now, with a little cash in his pocket, a major increase in salary benefits both him and the Packers long-term. I don't really think he will be sought after on the open market, so it makes some sense for him to be the first domino if he so chooses.
