Clay Mathews?
At best TJ Watt, 6 years late and a dozen picks higher. That is his ceiling.
Bad pick considering what was on the board. Gute is awful.
Lol you guys with your ridiculous white comparisons.
He is nothing like either.

I have a bunch of Van Nesses in my distant family tree. I wonder if we are related.

There shouldn’t have been excuses last year for it but Barry needs to step the $%@# up. I don’t fully blame him because I think Gute has done a terrible job but he’s the next scapegoat so…
I’m tired of investing all these resources in the defense for it to be perpetual &%$@.

Van Ness is a great athlete. I think with his measurables, we are taking him for the upside. And he should be able to contribute in 2023.
Still on the board when we picked:
Gonzalez
JSN
Levis
Porter Jr.
Smith
Mayer
Jones
Branch
Banks
Johnston
Flowers McDonald IV
Kincaid
And so on
I do think the Packers liked VN, but they probably tried to trade back and didn’t get a good offer. I also think they obviously rated this kid higher than JSN.
The good thing is that VN can get the backup role this year and be ready for 2024 and become a high level player.

Not even close.
Right bigger and more upside
More upside that Clay?

Feel like I had the exact same reaction today as I did for Gary.
High upside pick for sure, think, like Gary, he's gunna need a little time.
Although actually like he'll just be thrown into some early snaps regardless with Gary on ACL, then he can step back and 'learn to be a pro' as our front office says.

Trade Savage to the Jets for 15. Who says no?

Gute drafts for potential first round. He is fine letting a rookie not play much then come on 2nd year.

So, do we buy Gute looking to trade up talk at all? I think after 25 is possible, but don't see higher than that.

I wonder what the Jets do. They’re loaded at WR. They took a guard last year. So they do it again and take Torrence? Do they reach for Dawand Jones?

That’s also a reason why our cap is the way it is as well.

Leta also not underestimate him as a 4i or even 3 if he adds some pounds. He may have iDL in his future.

Joe Douglas already failing Aaron not getting him one of the top 4 offensive lineman.
They should have stayed at 13.
Oh god, they are gunna take JSN, arent they

So sweet, we took someone at 13 and we don't know what position he is?

He isn't the athlete Gary is. Not bad, but not Gary. He was more productive in college. Still don't like it at 13.
