I don't have it handy, but of note (I believe it was Ben Fennell), the Packers have been VERY effective when they do bring pressures and Quay Walker and Edgerrin Cooper, in particular, have been very good in that department.

Detroit held the Cardinals to 13 points and Washington held them to 14 points.

Both of those games were in Arizona.

17 points or fewer should be the goal this week.

I don’t like that Wyatt is out, but I am optimistic that the D is going to play well on Sunday.

Excited to see if Williams & Cooper continue get snaps.

Would be nice to see Gary & LVN produce.

Clark will be going against a backup after the Cards best lineman went on IR.

I don't expect any noticeable uptick by a statistical measure. I would expect their marching orders will be to rush while maintaining containment and not allow Murray to run wild through vacated rush lanes.

There's a measure of success to be had in doing that but it won't necessarily show up on the stat sheet, which is how most people measure "production".

Is that a real surprise? The league is tailoring the game to passing offenses. The offenses are scheming better protection and generally getting the ball out sooner than in the past.

I'd like to see a comparison of third downs alone and not all snaps, to see how defenses stack up. Is that possible?

This was a very acceptable defensive performance with <17 points given up.

3 of the points were the result of the INT after Melton slipped.

Brooks and Williams forced the fumbles.

Good start forced a mediocre Cards D to play from behind.

Bullard, WIlliams, and Cooper look darn good for rookies.

Brazil was more like an NFL-greed / Goodell arrogance event. I don't blame Philly.

Don't look now, but the Pack are currently tied for 9th overall in scoring defense at 20.2 points per game. Worth noting that the Lions are 8th, Bears 5th, and Vikings 3rd, so yeah defense matters.

Big challenge coming up on Sunday against a team with offensive weapons that can run the ball and throw it. Houston is averaging 23.8 ppg.

Goal should be holding Houston to 20 or fewer points with the Texans going outdoors to play a second consecutive road game.

We get the Texans without stud Nico Collins. He’s in IR with a hammy. Texans have two old vets that clearly still have it in Mixon and Diggs we will have to worry about. Stroud is relatively athletic but not special like what we saw from Hurts, Richardson, or Murray. Might be an opportunity for the pass rush to get after it again. Really hoping Wyatt is back. That seems to be the driving force of our pass rush.

Hafley is really grooming Cooper and bringing him along in a deliberate fashion.

I think using Cooper as the green dot MLB and letting Quay just trigger as WLB is probably the next step forward for this defense.
Not sure it'll happen this season, but when it does - seems like the Packers D will be better for it.

Not sure it'll happen this season, but when it does - seems like the Packers D will be better for it.

If wearing the dot would take away from him being able to be explosive and reactive on every play, I'd wait for the off-season for it. I doubt Quay would suddenly transform into an explosive beast without it, tho he could benefit some for being able to just do what he's told.

Cooper is an instinctive, natural linebacker. Quay is a great athlete trying to play linebacker, which is not terrible, but he just doesn't have IT.

The player wearing the Green Dot doesn't have to be dumb or slow, or both.
