It isn't that crazy either.

Wilson got 35 per in new money which starts this year.

Mahomes contract gunna be 39.6 average a year over the next 12 years.

Russell gunna be able to sign 8 years worth of new contracts in 2024 at fair market prices.

ohhhh I forgot he had 2 years left and this is a 12 year deal. That makes it a LOT easier to figure out how the money works. I couldn't get it done in 10 years (and a reasonable first 5 years) without a couple years at $70+ tacked on at the end

yet many think we over paid Rodge, this is idiotic money. and a big reason teams will be run heavy in the future, when ya add in receivers the passing offense has out priced itself, great while it lasted, the early Rodgers areal circus was the best I've ever seen, edge of the seat thrills watching him zing it between two, even 3 defenders into the waiting hands of Nelson, or the mid level crosses to Jennings, not to mention the short chain movers to Cobb, seems like a era that is on it's way out now, much cheaper to run, just build up the OL and get a couple ground pounders, not as flashy, but who cares about that any more, winning is all that matters, and the cheaper the better

our hs will play there season next spring, so basically football for me is taking a yr off :waiting: :puke:

The numbers on the Mahomes deal blow minds, but if there's no multi-year guarantees in the "guarantee mechanisms" (doesn't appear there are), then it's just a long year-by-year deal for the team. PFT is saying 63M guaranteed at signing, Aaron Rodgers had 79.2M guaranteed in his latest extension.

Mahomes needs to stay healthy and effective to see real big money years of that deal.

Without getting into the specifics, it also says Mahomes can get out if the guarantee mechanisms aren't met.

Well at least the Bears saved half a billion dollars by drafting Trubisky instead.

I know right? All those MVP's and possible Championships are too much work and attention. January is for vacations!

Bold strategy by the Packers, allow Mostert to destroy them so he demands a trade in the offseason after the 9ers don't have any money left.

It's official. The Washington football franchise no longer has a name.

They should buy the rights to the Generals name from the Globetrotters.

Fitting

Yeah I think the DC Generals or DC Admirals would be cool.

Changing the name from one that denigrates victims of colonialism to one that celebrates perpetrators of colonialism is peak liberalism. (Yeah, I saw the newest reply; don't care). Maybe it'll be a female colonizer!!

I like Washington Warriors. They could incorporate native american themes in that as well, if they would like to stay with that piece to some extent.

They've already announced that they will not be using any native themes or iconography for whatever new name/logo they pick, but will stick with a similar color scheme. Warriors was my top choice years ago (last time I thought about this) for similar reasons, but it appears they'll be going a different direction

Gotchya, did see not that aspect of it. Getting away from it completely is probably for the best.
