The popular suggestion seems to be Redtails. If I was a Tuskegee airman, I'm not sure I'd want to be honored by such an awful team though. Only nine winning records since 1991. Ouch!

Heard they can't. Some realtor pattented like a dozen "Washington ________" team names and that was one of them.

These are all the names he has control over. They would have to buy him out.

Gotta say, they are doing a good job not letting anything leak on this.


I'd vote for the Washington Dream, with everything going on and given the location of the original speech in Washington, I could dig that.

This guy has been buying up names for years now and is allegedly in tens of thousands of dollars. He'll be desperate for the buyout; the team has the leverage there. I don't consider this guy any sort of serious hurdle or detriment.

I say they go with Washington Team Football. About as generic and inoffensive a name as you can get.

Then, once acceptance has been garnered, Snyder can spring the WTF memorabilia on the public and rake in the duckets.

I bet Al Davis would’ve been all over it...

Not totally unprecedented, especially for this region.

When the Canadian Football League had an expansion team in Baltimore, they originally named themselves the Colts, but the NFL Colts sued to say that they still had the rights to that name in this market. The NFL Colts won, so the Baltimore team played a full seasons officially called the "Baltimore CFLs"

I don't think Clark is quite as recognized and accomplished as Jones and is about what I was expecting for Clark. So my eyes, maybe made him a hair cheaper.
