From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
In the past every one is like “muh Lafleur never gets considered for coach of the year” “robbery!!” Etc
Il just say that Lafleur is a good coach but he is in his 6th season and every single season we get 2-4 complete stinkers, and most of those are directly related to him.
That’s why he’s never considered the best coach of the year in any single season.
Not a LaFleur apologist, but 2-4 stinkers? You really including this one? Losing by 2 on the last play of the game? The 2nd winningest coach in NFL history through 100 games. Like all of the NFL.
We held Chicago to 224 yards, out gained them by 150 yards, playing our backup QB. And despite what anyone says, a basically meaningless game. If this is a “stinker” for you, we are unfortunately entering spoiled fan territory.
I gotta ask... what's with all the whining and bitching? Green Bay is 11-6 in the playoffs. I think you all forget that Det, Chicago, and MN reloaded with high picks for a long time, two of those teams actually hired decent head coaches after 20 years of idiots.
Meanwhile, we kept winning consistently and got saddled by a certain QB and a certain OT with high cap numbers and some iffy draft picks by Gute. It's been one hell of a long successful ride. If our "down" year is 11-6 that's not much to complain about.
Hey, if you are cool with above average regular seasons and then first or second round playoff exits every year that’s cool. I can acknowledge that people can see the Packers seasons like this and totally enjoy the overall experience because the team is above average.
What some of you don’t understand is that there are lots of other perspectives out there.
To me, if you aren’t in the Super Bowl, it was a lost season.
To me, if you regress on offense, on your game management, on your time management during the last 2 minutes of both halves - and the Packers have regressed BADLY in all of these areas - then false bravado and optimism is wasted energy.
Realists vs dreamers. I know a lot of people get labeled as haters here, but there are quite a few people who let the Packers do no wrong in their mind.

Hard to argue with some of your facts/statements. However, do you not think today's game might have given some of us a pretty good reason to whine and bitch (I figure that's your way of saying expression our dissatisfaction)?
I haven't read all the posts. Has anybody griped about the 20 "extra" seconds that Green Bay gifted to da Bears?
I saw Willis go under center with 20+ seconds and I'm screaming for him to burn those seconds. That and the hog collar were all da Bears needed.
I was worse than under-whelmed in the first quarter. That Packer squad, at least on offense, was not primed for the game. They were uninspired.
Whether we win or lose next week in the playoffs, my main concern that I'm taking from this season is the 1-5 record we had this season against NFC North foes. 100% unacceptable.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!

Ugh
Bears had lost 10 straight and we still had something to play for.
From the use of TOs, to the play calls, to who was played and who sat, to giving up punt return tds, to thinking the bears couldn’t snap a ball in 12 seconds, to playing Watson bc “Doubs was sick”…yes…absolutely this is a stinker of a coaching performance lol
Seems MLF and staff have gotten into a bad habit of being surprised by their opponent.
How do you bot expect a 20 yard slant??? That statement doesn't hold water.
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
...only 20 seconds or so. Good grief. It was clear that GB was going to play for a figgy try. They placed the ball for a play with about 24 seconds on the play clock. And they snap it with 21 seconds. Total BAD clock management.

Some of us don’t like losing to the bears
Please name a single name that does?
I answered the question in bold directly. He asked why the bitching and moaning, I answered it was because the complainers don’t like losing to the bears.

Fair enough, you be you. But then let me be me, too.
I realize we didn't feature Jacobs today but this team doesn't look like they want to play in cold weather. Going to Philly is not ideal for that reason alone.
On the TO before McManus' FG did MLF let the clock run down to 1 second? If not, that cost us the game!
I wouldn't say they didn't want to play in cold weather. The weather wasn't what did us in. Take away a crazy wild ST TD for the bares and we aren't wringing our hands. I've seen hundreds of football games and I don't recall ever seeing anything like that before. Leave ot to Chicago to pull off a tricky ST play like that.
We have talent on O but for some reason MLF won't utilize his TEs and didn't want to let his speedy backup QB use one of his best assets. Losing Watson and Doubs getting sick really hurt. Brooks is the better backup RB IMO. We need a true game changer at WR for sure.
Our DC wet the bed in that drive by the bares in the closing moments of the game. Why he wouldn't get after their QB behind that line was inexplicable. Our secondary is a mess and have issues covering receivers. Get a sack or force an incompletion and we win.
But sooner or later Chicago was going to beat us. We won 10 straight. In the end Washington won so it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. We HAVE to play a hell of a lot better next week in Philly or it will get ugly.
