It could be that the Queens run back 2 kickoffs and ST gives up 14 points, you know..... They may have been fixed but they are like a 1960's car engine, massively out of tuning. Or muff a punt as Amari Rodgers is still a disaster waiting to happen.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑06 Sep 2022 13:49It’s kind of wild to me how we’ve spent the whole offseason taking up our potentially historic defense and come game time, 60% or so seem to think the Vikings will score 20+ against us. Almost all at least 13. Only NCF and me in single digits.
I guess I’m garbage time they might add some easy points.

you have no idea how ST's will do, ever since the beginning of TC we have used different players regularly to weed out players that didn't fit, the few constants where Amari Rodgers, who over all did well ( just not up to your idiotic standards).TheSkeptic wrote: ↑07 Sep 2022 01:16It could be that the Queens run back 2 kickoffs and ST gives up 14 points, you know..... and no way WAtson is gonna run back punts and kicks, who the hell would spend the draft resources we did to have him get mangled on a return squad, what about sitting our best players through out PS games don't you get? WAtson is the future, and Cobb is a starter, those guys very seldom play teams squads, specially so in games that don't count
I love how you and others here expect Lafluer and the coaches to cater to your whims, and treat PS games as though we are now entering the PO's, show everything, play everyone, empty the play book.
I have no idea why you felt the need to respond in such an aggressive and antagonistic manner. You are responding to me like it was my opinion we end the year with 13 points per game allowed.Raptorman wrote: ↑06 Sep 2022 22:46Yeah, good luck with that. The last time the Packers held other teams to 13 ppg was 1996, Possible? Yes. Probable? Don't think so. Not this year. I will say this. Any team that can do it however will more than likely win the Super Bowl.BF004 wrote: ↑06 Sep 2022 13:56Well to be fair, here are the predictions: 18,13,6,10,24,3,20,10,20, which is a 13.7 average. A season long average of that would make a generationally good defense. Average drops top 12.5 if we get rid of Raptor's ridiculous 24 point prediction.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑06 Sep 2022 13:49It’s kind of wild to me how we’ve spent the whole offseason taking up our potentially historic defense and come game time, 60% or so seem to think the Vikings will score 20+ against us. Still a pretty shady OL, Kenny has just owned Bradbury since he's been there. I thought Darrisaw was pretty good last year, Vikings may have finally got themselves a quality OL in the draft. Ed Ingram seems like a smaller dude and kind of weird to put him next to the undersized Bradbury. Hopefully our length and size can be a big problem for them there. O'Neill and Cleveland are who they are, fair starters.
New look 3-4 defense. Severly lacking pass rush bodies on the interior, and oversized OLB's, I'd expect the vikings to be in a lot of nickel, even if we are in heavier sets. If they are in base, we should really struggle to run, even if we run at Z. However if we double or at least chip on the edges, I would expect Aaron to have a lot of time. They have a lot of experience at LB, we don't exactly have any kind of burners at RB or TE to create constant mismatches there, going to need to rely on LaFleur to make those guys effective. I don't see any huge advantages with our WR's over their secondary, maybe finding a way to get Watson on Patrick Peterson 1 on 1, PP will have to respect his speed which should open up a lot of underneath action as well.
Not expecting any crazy success here on O, going to be a lot on LaFleur to get to what is working, keeping those edge defenders off Aaron, and finding ways to get Jones and Dillon their yards. When the Vikings are in base, I'd like to see a lot of heavy protection, 3-4 man routes, I think Aaron would have a lot of time to let some schematic plays open up.

Packers. Always too conservative with injuries. Yet another tired narrative.Pckfn23 wrote: ↑07 Sep 2022 09:31BB material: https://www.golongtd.com/p/will-zadariu ... enge-thats

Smith’s final year in Green Bay saw him play in two games — the opener and the playoff loss to the 49ers — because he had back surgery that he believes soured his relationship with the Packers. Smith told Tyler Dunne of Go Long that it “felt like &%$@ went south” when he went for a second medical opinion that led to the decision to have surgery and that he became “a nobody” to the team, which helped inspire him to join up with Green Bay’s divisional rival.
“Walking past me not saying nothing. ‘Z, how’s your back doing?’ — there was none of that,” Smith said. “As you can see, that adds on to why I’m on the other side. So, I can go back. I get to go back two times a year. . . . I put my back on the $%@# line. I put everything. And that Year Three, I was treated bad. That’s why I’m here now. So, I can play them twice a year.”
Smith’s narrative ignores the fact that he originally agreed to a contract with the Ravens and backed out of it a short time later, but it seems things worked out in a way that should lead to a fully motivated Smith taking the field to kick off the regular season.
Ok, whatevs...
I've got access to it if people want me to post the whole thing. But yes, as was said, per Z, Packers wanted him to play and not get 2nd opinion. He got it anyway and got surgery. Finally got back and team & life went on without him and he said people then ignored him.
Sucks if it is true that he was treated that way. But this is starting to feel like a Bennett situation.

He sounded pissy long before he hurt his back when the Packers weren’t offering an extension. Sounds kind of like he was looking for reasons to be mad.
Wish he was still here an healthy and we had cap room, but oh well.

No, just that 13 ppg on the year would be a really good defense. Not you in particular. But hey, if the Packers or any team can do 13ppg during the season they should be the Super Bowl winners. Personally, if my team only gave up 18ppg I would be happy. That would mean at least 14-15 wins on the year.BF004 wrote: ↑07 Sep 2022 07:16You are responding to me like it was my opinion we end the year with 13 points per game allowed.Raptorman wrote: ↑06 Sep 2022 22:46Yeah, good luck with that. This is my understanding of the Z situation:
1. Z should have been extended in the spring of 2021 but couldn't be extended because the Packers had to first navigate the Rodgers thing and no cap realignment could be done unless Rodgers restructured...which he didn't. This primarily came at the expense to Z in my mind.
2. Instead of extending Z, we instead negotiated a pay cut and restructure with Preston Smith to free even more cap space.
3. Z plays basketball and injures his back in May/June. He does nothing about it and realizes he is hurt but he doesn't have an extension. This is the time he tweeted, "I want to be a Packer for life!!" Keep in mind, Z knew he had an injury at this point.
4. Z didn't get the medical attention he needed when it made sense to have it. Instead he tried to allow time to heal it and not miss camp and the early season. The result is he missed camp and the whole season. A surgery earlier would have meant PUP but an earlier return to the team.
5. Preston Smith and Rashan Gary excelled with Z being gone and the pay needed to keep Z wasn't worth it.
6. Z signs with Baltimore and I believe I remember Baltimore actually pulled the contract from Z (I think he said this in a Rich Eisen interview).
7. Z is looking for work and Minnesota sent an offer. Z during the spring had nothing really bad to say about the Packers. He said "nothing but love for my brothers in GB but it will be fun to play them and sack Aaron". Acknowledged it's a business and everyone needs to do what's best for them.
8. Now is in MN and is likely pressured by the Vikings to give some "screw the Packers talk" because MN fans eat that sh*t up.
I honestly don't think Z has that much ill will towards GB. We resurrected his career and he said as much in earlier interviews. We put him on the map. We believed in him when nobody else did and we put our money where our mouth was in 2019.

I have a 24-13 feel here. Green Bay dominates and the score is closer then the beating. Vikings are running the Rams O. GB has done well against that system. I do think this D smoothers the Vikings. Just the perfect blend to slow them down esp if minny goes pass heavy early.
Dillon and Jones over 225 combined totals.
GPG.

Packers more than 20, Vikings less than 20.

Lazard got stepped on last week and isn't practicing again.
MLF knows what the starting Oline will be for week 1, but won't say if Bakh or Elgton are playing.

I love Z. Still do. But preparing a “speech” for a week one game back in the spring is..well...corny.
I Do Not Hate Matt Lafleur
I'll go with Lafluers opinion, whatever that is over Z, He was outer worldly year one, declined some year two, still excellent, then had a non football injury year 3 which we paid plenty for him to sit, imo he has no reason to complain.
