Yeah @Yoop Watson is MY GUY. I wanted him as much if not more than anyone on this board pre-draft. I was onto him earlier and stayed on him. I think he is ceiling is limitless.
But I’ve seen limitless ceilings top out below potential enough times to want to see consistency in real time before saying he is a legit #1
ahhh, I just don't get the reservations, and what the heck is it with all this @yoop, it sounds so impersonal. most of us been hashing and bashing this stuff for over 15 years, my name is Mike, glad to meet ya Maxwell
anyway I guess we've both seen, specially pre draft players we thought where can't miss guys, bust, heck half this forum Thought Adams was a bust his second season, but Adams imo showed mental toughness as a rookie, same year two as he played threw some nagging injury's and fought threw some lack of concentration drops.
I think the best measure of a player is how they handle adversity, do they rise above it or falter, and not just high draft picks, but also guy's like Scantling, but the mid and late round picks just take longer, my argument concerning our avenue of WR additions has always stemmed with readiness to play, back in 2018 we needed walk on talent far more then players to develop, and both Watson and Doubs where able to show that almost immediately.
I also feel it is better to have 3 good receivers versus one great one and a bunch of wannabe's, because good requires more attention and forces a DC to design coverages to stop them, thats why to me Watson, Doubs, and Reed are a more dangerous group then our last years of Adams, MVS, Lazard, and all the others that rotated through 1265.
yes this will all have to prove to be accurate in the future, but I like my odds of being right.
