100% it is the guarantees that is holding this up. Packers are the most stingy when it comes to them and that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Thanks for highlighting this. I had actually asked you in another thread a moment ago if you knew any of the details behind how GB would guarantee the money. It seems that some of it becomes guaranteed later, after a period of performance. At least that's how I understand it, from the little that I've heard.

Your statement makes no sense. Why would the Packers keep him off the field? The Packers have no reason to keep him off the field. He is under contract.

Simple. If the front office felt that keeping him off the field would be to their advantage, they'd do it. I'm not saying there's a large number of scenarios where that would be the case. But they were negotiating too.

Quite literally no advantage to the Packers that Love wasn't on the field. If Love got a career ending injury before a massive contract got signed....that would be called doding a bullet.

Want an example? Bak gets a career ender 5 weeks after he signed a massive contract. Don't you think the Packers would have rather had the injury before the contract signing?

I have to believe the team would have rather had Love on the field, but were respectful and confident enough the deal would get done quickly so they didn't really say anything that wasn't positive about it.
