I really wonder if the common man will move heaven and earth to go to GB. I’m an out of towner, like majority of draft/nfl fans and when I think of the time/resources it takes to make the voyage to GB, I’d much rather use up that capital for a game

Attendance will be interesting
Also, you should change your mind and make the trek.

It's an individual thing for everyone. I have done countless games. To me, this is a once in a lifetime event and I happen to be a pretty big Draft junkie. I think there are plenty like me and even to the opposite extreme where they would prefer this over a game. I don't know where people are staying or how it is all going to work logistically and I don't really care. I think when the show goes on, Thursday, specifically, people are going to come out of the woodwork and I wouldn't be shocked if this shatters attendance records.
If I were able, you can be sure I'd attend at least one day. It is a once in a lifetime event for a lifelong Packer fans. However, health issues again stand in my way of meeting up with all of you, I have friends and relatives going for all 3 days.

I do understand the financial part though for long distance Fans, everything is so expensive these days :aok:

maybe it will. I just feel unsure about it. But i hope its a success for the org and city!

My next voyage to GB will be for Bears game. Ive never seen a division game...just panthers, falcons, dolphins, and jets. Lightweight franchises.
Not bad to have seen 4 games tho considering i live in Georgia

I’ll be working the draft. Might be available for Monday at Stadium View.
Didn't know they allowed male "Hookers" at the draft. :rotf:
I came into this world KICKING and screaming, naked, and covered in blood that wasn't mine.
I am prepared to go out the same way if I need to.

I'm sure it will be successful, but I don't foresee smashing any records. I think it will be smaller than detroit's, just because it's smaller. I also have a house that opened up and won't be re-rented until May. 2 months ago I contacted a couple agencies that are filling spaces for people for the draft. We're 30min from the stadium and nobody was interested and from I could tell the pricing wasn't worth the hassle.

no amount is enough for me to open my home up to strangers, even though they're Packer fans, and especially if they reside in a state that ranks top 5 in booze consumption :rotf: :rotf: ( not sure how true that is of WI. just what I read)

my nephew lives in Suamaco and he has a doz or so going to stay over night there, designated drivers (wifes I suppose) driving them as close as possible to Lambeau, then picking them up later, dang I wish I could tag along, but I have health issues that will make that impossible

This may be the biggest Packer event of your lifetime, held in one of the most beautiful small towns(relatively speaking) you'll ever visit, if at all possible you should try. :aok:

there will be a lot more Bares games buddy :aok:

Oh, my home is not for rent :) Friends are welcome of course.

This is a rental home we have near by. Nice little ranch, and yes, unless the amounts were far and above what is normal for the market here, no chance i'm renting it out a last minute group looking for a place to get hammered. Especially with someone moving in the start of May. Not enough time to fix any potential damage.

We were looking at opening up some rooms within walking distance of Lambeau on one of our properties, and the price isn’t worth it. Meaning people arent getting that desperate for places to stay, it’ll be fine.
You mean the price isn't high enough so you didn't open up the rooms?
Yeah

That's really interesting. I stopped looking about a month ago because I couldn't find anything within a reasonable Uber ride to Lambeau. Kind of a bummer, but not the end of the world.

I just keep wondering where in the hell are all the folks from the league, media and other teams gonna stay? Does GB have the lodging for all or will some have to stay in the Valley?
Ever hear of the Oshkosh Air show? There are rooms. Might be 30 to 45 miles away, but there are rooms.
Yes of course but 30 + 45 miles away isn't convenient. A lof EAA folks stay on site.

Is a 30-45 minute cab ride back to your hotel in NY or Chicago convenient? These gigantic events do require most to step out of their comfort zone a little bit.

Just to clarify, the agencies that were taking bookings for homes weren't interested. Never got to the point of listing it to the public. I didn't want to mess with that. Was willing to forgo some of the money to not have to deal with short term rental stuff. The agencies weren't interested in anything that far away. It's about 35 minutes to the stadium from the doorstep just outside Appleton.

I gotcha. Makes sense.

My sister in law lives just off of College on the south side of Appleton. She offered, but that drive was going to be crazy given the amount of people so we passed. Would like to partake in all the festivities, if you know what I mean!
