Davante Adams Released

I'm to the point where I would take either one (DK or Adams) as long as the price is right.
Amari Cooper maybe on a 1 year prove it deal of those two fall through. Otherwise no other player would really interest me. Gotta make it happen if we want to compete for a Championship.

Cooper was trash in Buffalo - not going there unless it’s a tryout level contract.Yoop wrote: ↑06 Mar 2025 13:01bullets matter, just ask and drug dealer who ain't got anyAcrobat wrote: ↑05 Mar 2025 16:36I'm to the point where I would take either one (DK or Adams) as long as the price is right.

I don't think he was ever fully healthy. When he's on, he can dominate. At the right price, is take a flier if we miss out on the other guys.lake shark wrote: ↑06 Mar 2025 17:19Cooper was trash in Buffalo - not going there unless it’s a tryout level contract.Yoop wrote: ↑06 Mar 2025 13:01bullets matter, just ask and drug dealer who ain't got anyAcrobat wrote: ↑05 Mar 2025 16:36I'm to the point where I would take either one (DK or Adams) as long as the price is right.

Had a feeling he wouldn’t sign with us. After listening to him talk he was going to stay west. I think he was very praiseful of the Packers in public to appease the fans but still takes issue with the way Gutenbumst handled him before.
2 years and 46 million. Way more than I expected. I thought it would fall somewhere in the 34-40 range. Oh well. Really starting to look like we are going to end up with something really underwhelming at WR again.

Buy DEF
Trade Jaire for anything we can get.
Draft OFF

Yeah there's really no other WR's I'm that interested in. So I'm good with just focusing on beefing up the defense and put all efforts into having a dominant, best in NFL unit, and hopefully the offense is competent enough to score enough points.
I am fine with just drafting a WR. I was in favor of not getting any new WRs last offseason, but the unit regressed so now it's time to shake things up a bit
Rams going to get rid of Cupp and sign Davante to a huge deal. What does that do for them? Don’t save money. Get same level player. Seems completely lateral.

I figured it would be about 23 or 24 annual, there are still players out there that cab help, gute will bank on improvement with Reed and Wicks, but we still need a deep threat, probably pick up MVS for a songlupedafiasco wrote: ↑09 Mar 2025 18:29Had a feeling he wouldn’t sign with us. We banked on improvement last year and got nothing from anyone. Everyone either took a step back or was the same exact person they were. Cant do that two years in a row.Yoop wrote: ↑10 Mar 2025 07:54I figured it would be about 23 or 24 annual, there are still players out there that cab help, gute will bank on improvement with Reed and Wicks, but we still need a deep threat, probably pick up MVS for a songlupedafiasco wrote: ↑09 Mar 2025 18:29Had a feeling he wouldn’t sign with us. MVS does nothing but go backwards at the position for this team. We moved on for a reason and so did the Chiefs and Bills. This guy has played with 3 of the greatest QBs ever in Rodgers, Mahomes, and Allen and has always been perpetual &%$@. I would rather swing on an unknown rookie than waste my time with a certified bum.
Ive said it before but this team doesnt need some blazing fast WR. Its nice to have but its not a requirement and if it is thats a failure on Lafleurs part. The Rams got away with Kupp and Puka who by all accounts are not burners. The 49ers make an offense hum with Deebo, Aiyuk, and Kittle and neither one of them are known to be burners. AJ Brown and Devonta Smith arent track stars. Neither is Jefferson and Addison. Theyre fast but not so fast that theyre going to just run by everyone. Theyre just good players who get open because they have a great release and run good routes. My point is we dont need speed. We just need good players. Right now we have a bunch of glorified WR3s masquerading as 1s and 2s. Its not for a lack of trying. Gutembumst has just been downright terrible at drafting WRs.

The thing is every DC has made adjustments to stop mid-range passing, and that's why every team wants either deep speed or multiple TE's or quick separaters, obviously there are more than just one way to win, but only so much talent to do it with, pick your optionlupedafiasco wrote: ↑10 Mar 2025 08:45We banked on improvement last year and got nothing from anyone. this draft sets up bad for us now, it's thin at WR, but loaded at pass rusher, my hopes were to land a receiver with UFA or a trade, and draft the best pass rushing DT, it rarely works out the way I hope it does

To me it looks like we are missing the guy who can beat man. Watson was that guy and you saw success when Watson was on the field and lack of success when he wasn't.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑10 Mar 2025 08:45

So the type of WRs I am looking for is a big WR and/or has speed and great route running. So not Allen Lazard.
I think MVS could be your cheap option but you really want a guy who can either be physical and great hands or can break DB's ankles.
The guy on our roster who has the potential to be this if Wicks. Doubs can be a poor man's version but never the alpha. You will always want more. I am also curious if Luke Musgrave can be a good man beater on the inside.
As for the draft it's Matthew Golden. Size is a concern as we would have two 5' 11" guys but the dude is a route runner, has speed, and can catch so I would like our chances. Still seeing in mocks is a 15 to 30 guy so maybe we get lucky.
This was a mouthful. I think the Packers do need a guy with field tilting speed and MVS seems to be the best option left on the market. It doesn't have to be someone that is our #1 WR or players more snaps than the other guys, but we have seen LaFleur's offense go cold without a field stretching target. You mention the Rams. They have Atwell, they tried DeSean Jackson. The 49ers have Jennings. The Eagles and Vikings quartet can outrun anyone on our roster other than Watson. We do need that guy. He can be a cheap role player. He can come from The Draft, but don't dismiss the need there.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑10 Mar 2025 08:45Ive said it before but this team doesnt need some blazing fast WR. Now, getting that guy to play that role also doesn't move the needle on the room, as a whole, I get that too. Separate discussion. I still think they need a dude. Possibly this is the year we shock the world and trade up for McMillan if he makes it into the teens.

IMO Guty wont use slot 23 on a receiver, not with such high quality Prime DT available, or edge rushers, besides I doubt Golden will last to slot 23, everyone wants what he brings, there will be 2nd and 3rd rounders with wheels, Ayomanor, Royals run low 4'sgo pak go wrote: ↑10 Mar 2025 09:41To me it looks like we are missing the guy who can beat man.
