An interesting quote from Aaron Rodgers yesterday that seems to have gotten little attention:

Question was essentially revolving around playing for the last time in Soldier Field. Rodgers expounded on it and said he talked to Mason about it before the game and then said,
I don't think this will be my last one, but I have enjoyed every bit of it up to this point.
I took that more to mean that he expects to play 4 more years and will likely face Chicago regardless of what team he's on, more so than an expression of which team he believes he will play for next year; but I did, also, hear that and find it interesting that people didn't jump on it--mostly because people love that story. But I'm actually sorta glad they didnt.
I thought the same thing. Rodgers doesnt seem to be losing his arm strength. To be 38 and still be able to rocket the ball off platform is impressive.

He does have the no trade clause in his deal so he could just tell the team he wishes not to be traded if they try. Cutting him would be dumb.

if Rodgers really wants to play here and he is at the level he is now, and still under contract...what a shame it would be to push him out the door due to either petty grievances, or cap mismanagement. If he wants to go and it remains mutual, he has earned a respectable departure. But what a shame it would be if he wants to stay and we punt the poor guy.

It all comes back to the Love pick. There isnt a doubt in my mind he would want to stay if it wasnt for that god awful pick.

Rodgers confirmed this past summer he does not have a "no trade clause"

I thought it was reported they cut a year off the deal and added a no trade clause. Maybe I dreamed it.

They did. And Rodgers said it wasn't true.

Yidiom is a very good gunner and our #5 CB. It's not his fault he had to play defense and quickly found himself at #6 CB.

Would have thought Douglas would be higher. Everyone else is about where I thought they’d be. I guess Runyan as well. I thought he would have been on the plus side. Did t think he did anything great but didn’t think he was bad either.

I mean, PFF grades are whatevs. They're a nice little guideline, but if a result "surprises" me, I disregard it.

I think Clark was Elite level and Gary was good.

PFF has it literally flipped around.

I think his game picks back up big when Bak comes back, allow Bobby to play more WR, do less DE chipping. He got destroyed on a few blocks yesterday.

Bears had a lot of success running the ball. I think Kenny made a few impact plays, but possible he wasn't doing on enough on that end. Maybe not his fault, maybe Barry wanted him just shooting into the backfield all game and not playing sound gap control, no idea. But is what it is.

I said it before week 1 and it's even more likely now: I think everyone is overestimating the odds that Rodgers will not be a Packer next year. I think it is more likely than not that he is still our QB for next season.

I also said it when we picked Love, and still believe it: had we not picked Love, he wouldn't have gotten the chip on his shoulder and he might have stayed mediocre. Going into the 2020 draft I hoped we would pick a QB early who would ultimately never see the field, because you have to understand Rodgers' psychology and what motivates him.

Personally I don't want Rodgers to be a Packer next year. I just don't think it makes sense for either party. It's a lose-lose for both.

PFF is a nice baseline for banter, but no, they're not elite. The only analytics company I really like is FootballOutsiders.

But I don't pay a ton of attention. The key metric is- who can successfully predict what will happen based on their models? Explaining after the fact means nothing. Who can tell you ahead of time? And every time I read FootballOutsiders early in the year, they seem to have a crystal ball as to what happens later. PFF not so much (a notable exception being 2015 Rodgers v KC when they said he actually sucked, which was a harbinger of what was to come).

Sometimes they offer something to think about or re-check. Like Sullivan's high grade. I thought he was invisible in the game, which can mean the CB did good and didn't get targeted much. Good job by him to step up with the secondary plagued with injuries.
