Mad at myself for not getting more conservative earlier.
Writings been on the wall, was just such easy money for so long.
Especially on crypto, been such obvious 4 year cycles so far, no reason to expect otherwise.
This UST thing gunna be interesting to see how it plays out. Guessing overreaching govt regulations, meaning gunna have to switch to pure vpn’s and cold wallets.
Just gunna dca and wait for the next run in 3 years. Lot of alt coins scare me now, keep kicking myself for not moving to eth or btc sooner. Guessing several of these alts might just die off, but hate transferring now when one is down like 50% and eth is down like 20%, lol.
Just glad it’s all play money and I have zero expected need to pull anything out. Gunna prolly view this as a time where I’m kicking myself for not pumping harder right now.
Guessing one good thing that will come of this will be dems getting smoked in mid terms and nothing happening for the next two years.

I have all my money on the side after Joe got elected. Luckily. Even if the democrats lose the midterms the damage is irreversible for many years. Thank God for sports as a distraction.

Have a small position and keeping an eye on SNDL.
Still playing with this?
Thinking about getting a few $0.50 or $1.00 calls on it for either Jan '23 or Jan '24 and just hope for any kind of sizeable bounce.

I'm still in it. It was supposed to "AMC" right after AMC did its thing. But we all know how that's going ha. Do you have a good reason to be bullish about pot stocks?

YEah, I am bullish on pot stocks. It is absolutely inevitable when they are nationally legalized. But I do think whenever there is a little momentum or success on that front, the speculation goes wild, over the top, why its pulling back so hard now. So this would actually be a good time to get in for a longer, multi-year play for when it does finally happen.
But I would also be aware of the buy the rumor, sell the news. I would try to sell quick on actual very positive news, might only get a really nice run for a few days, even a few hours.

This has been my biggest mistake so far. I'm honestly not bad at buying.
But I have been bad at not selling. I need to not get attached to stock plays and be okay with selling for a good gain.

GME 4:1 stock split announced yesterday, amc and gme both reacting well to the news.
Wish it was like 7:1 or 8:1, but I’ll take it. Can actually maybe get into some options plays with GME, just can’t when you need like 12k collateral or in shares to go short on options plays. And no way would I trade on margin.

Twitter wasn't truthful about bots so Musk just canceled his bid to buy it.

'Never invested. I've been thinking for a while now about getting into it, just didn't want to do it while the market was soaring. It's still a little too high for me to want to get in on it even with the recent drops, but if/when the crash comes, I think I'm going to take the plunge -- I might even include crypto!
What do you lot like to invest in? I've been told anything tech is a good bet.

Time in the market is more important than timing the market. Old but true. That said, now is an awful time to get in sticks or even bonds (I don't know much about crypto). There is a lllooonngg way down to go over the next year (maybe more). Also be aware bull markets of 40%+ often happen within a bear market, so don't fall for the "we are over the worst" talk from people like Jim Cramer and the resident in the WH.

Depends if you want to play with investments like daily, monthly, or not until you retire.
Paper trading accounts are fun for stocks and options and crypto to get the hang of it. Watch a few hours of videos on the markets, some of the driving forces, technical patterns and options. Important to understand how all of them work, even if you just do stocks, imo.
Diversify, and only play with money you can afford to lose.

You do realize that if you invested in any kind of private business, or ever otherwise used your savings as "capital", you'd instantly fit the dictionary definition of a capitalist?

Dictionary definition maybe, not the Marxist definition; I would not (meaningfully) own means-of-production. In fact, Marx was a day trader and Engels was a proponent of investing to help fund the movement.

Hate the game, not the player. Should never blame anyone for acting in their own best interest. For instance, I’d be sure to work as little as possible with no reward for working any harder in a communist society, I’d be bringing home that bread after hours waiting in line and ride that gravy train to the gulags.

"Communist" (actually, socialist) society actually had a system that based wages on work outputs.
What incentive do wage-laborers have under capitalism, that maybe they will get a raise/promotion later? 9 times out of 10, working "as little as possible" is the smarter thing for them to do.

Working hard enough to stay employed probably makes the most sense given the general lack of job security regardless of job performance.

To keep up with my great investment performance....yes I stored by stablecoin on Celsius.
I picked Celsius because they were an American company and offered the most communication to its users. This has been an awful experience. I'm expecting at least a 50% haircut here.
Sucks when the actual asset is fine...just the place I stored it in absolutely f*cked it up.
And for those boomers who say, "well the media said users get 17% on their coin what do you expect?...." this is a false presentation of reality. The resounding majority of interest rates on this lending platform is 4% - 7%. I was right at 6% - 7%. The ultimate risk did not come close to returns I received.

I feel ya, prolly had half my crypto on Voyager.

I did get some decent staking rewards in my time, but guessing when the dust settles, it will look uglier than it already did, Lol.

lol. rewards.
All the "rewards" I have been paid are in Celsius. It was a joke when they continued "paying rewards" to us when our accounts were locked.
Celsius communicated that all their loans were fully collateralized. They flat out lied. And they fooled a lot people. Not just retail dummies but sophisticated money managers, pension funds, etc.
I had my house remodel fund in there. I guess no more bathroom and kitchen now.

As an older guy I have never understood the crypto thing. Never heard of Celsius. Keep it simple gentleman.
