Bucs signed Geo.

Returned all starters.

Beat GB twice last year.

Brady's second year in a new offense.
Continuity is great. They seem likely to come back a similar, but stronger football team in 2021 than they were in 2020, when they won the Super Bowl.

That said, they are a team that improved throughout the year and while they deservedly won (not knocking them at all), I don't think they were the "best team" in football last year. They have room for improvement, as do we.

But just like the 49ers beat us twice in 2019, including in the NFC Championship game and then we came back and beat up an admittedly injured version of them in 2020, we can match up with the Bucs if we adjust, adapt, play better than we did in those games last year, and continue to also get better through continuity and player development.

Also, Gio Bernard does not in ANY way change my assessment of a football team's capabilities. Like cool, you got a 30 year old part-time back. His ability to fill a role isn't much different on the margins than, well, anyone who plays that role.

He's 29, not 30. One fact wrong

They did not have a pass catching back last year. Drops is what they had. Second fact wrong.

If you don't think the Bucs are better with Gio then you're not paying attention to their roster and its deficiencies. At least you are rock solid in having an opinion that is wrong and stays wrong.

I guess my point is that signing Gio is no different than James White or Duke Johnson which is no different than drafting Michael Carter or Kylin Hill...

Basically it's a generic, replaceable skill that is easy to find and that's why these guys are all signing low-level one-year deals and being drafted in the 4th and 6th rounds.

Actually, drafting Michael Carter would scare me significantly more because he is at least an explosive version of that model. part time RBs that catch passes solidly are a dime a dozen. And yes, they needed one, but they didn't add any version of it that strikes any sort of fear. It's been a minute since Gio was a weapon, regardless of the age detail.

Yeah, I hate to be a downer, but I was just thinking recently about how it feels like there has always been that one team in the Rodgers era -- that ONE $%@# team -- which has been the difference between Rodgers having 1 ring versus potentially having up to 7.

2012: 49ers (Kaepernick's wheels)
2013: deja-vu 2012.
2014: Seattle Seahawks (Russ + Legion of Boom... and we should have been motivated to $%@# them hard after Fail Mary).
2015: Arizona Cardinals... though we had no real business getting even that far, tbh.
2016: Atlanta Falcons (had an opportunity to get revenge next year, ruin their first game in the new stadium... nope, their first game in the new field and last game in the old one were both wins over us >.<)
2019: 49ers (that front seven)
2020: Tampa (Brady and their defense)

Image

So yeah, if Tampa brings back the old gang, they are a heavy favorite over us. I actually wanted to play them in the NFCCG because I did not think they were legit. Now, I pray we avoid them on the playoff road. Them and the 9ers, who I think will bounce back.

The Rodgers era Packers just suck at exorcising the demon. By the time we get "revenge" over those teams, it is after they have fallen off pretty drastically and are no longer a real threat. I was hoping this would change under new, more competent leadership at HC, but so far, MLF has had this same weakness.

2011 - Giants (W@Giants, L@Home Giants)
2012 - 49ers (L@Home 49ers, L@49ers) (W@Home Vikings, L@Vikings, W@Home Vikings)
2013 - 49ers (L@49ers, L @Home 49ers)
2014 - Seahawks (L@Seahawks, L@Seahawks)
2015 - Cardinals (L@Cardinals, L@Cardinals)
2016 - Falcons (L@Falcons, L@Falcons) (L@Home Cowboys, W@ Cowboys) (W@Home Giants, W@Home Giants)
2019 - 49ers (L@49ers, L@49ers)
2020 - Buccaneers (L@Buccaneers, L@Home Buccaneers)

I am not sure it plays out where a certain team is our undoing year to year. The only time that happened was 2012 to 2013. It is MUCH more likely that it is a certain team within the same year. Every team we lost to in the playoffs over the last 10 years, we played earlier in the season. The only time we won the regular season contest was in 2011 against the Giants. Every other time we lost to the team in the regular season and in the playoffs. Not counting 2012 as the 2nd Vikings game was a no contest as seeds were locked, the only time in the last 10 years we lost to a team in the regular season and beat them in the playoffs was against the Cowboys in 2016. I contend we don't know, yet, who we will lose to in the playoffs. Chances are it's to a team we lose to next regular season.

He will be 30 this year. You're gonna argue a +/- six month age swing with a 30 yr old RB? Talk about grasping at straws...

Leonard Fournette caught 36 passes on 47 targets. Ronald Jones caught 28 of 42. LeSean McCoy another 15 of 19. I count 79 catches from their top three pass catchers out of the backfield with a 73% completion rate. To compare, the top rated offense in the league top 3 backfield pass catchers accounted for 89 receptions and a completion percentage of 79%. We're basically talking a difference of 6 completions over the course of a season. Sounds to me like you're the one with your facts wrong.

Here I thought you were just an ass in the political discussions.

Someone got into a fight with Aaron Donald? Did he have a death wish?

I'd fight Donald for $5 M in pre-trial settlement money. $ 10M would be better, but I'd do it for 5 because I know he wouldn't fight hard enough and long enough to actually kill me. I'd take a dive in Round 1, collect the coin and retire with a few battle scars for the effort. :box:

I hate this so much. My wife needs to plan PTO 5 months in advance and this won't allow us to do that potentially.
