and if Ness takes as long to get on the field as Gary did it becomes unconscionable, that would be two very high picks on developmental prospects, no sale for me.
Barring injury or some other developmental setback, LVN will see the field early and often. I doubt Gary is ready to start the season, may need a few weeks, and then will need some time to readjust even when he's back on the field (we saw how Jenkins looked in his first few games off the same injury).

I am pretty sure LVN is a better pass-rusher than Enagbare right now and a better run-defender than Hollins right now. So it's really only Preston Smith who's clearly in front of him this year.

LVN will probably start on opening day. The only reason it took Gary 2 years to become productive is that he is intellectually challenged and LVN has no such issue.

I think the hate on the Lions around the internet and networks is too strong.

They took two great players at bad value. Value matters, certainly. But given the choice, I'd take players I like at bad value over players I don't at good values.

They have other needs, and the picks were above consensus, but those two guys can play.

In other news, Seattle got CB1 and WR1. That's wild.

I don't understand why a GM with a #1 overall pick would take a 5'10" QB.

Mike Wahle was super impressed by Campbell's tape, and thought him the best ILB. I was secretly wishing we'd get him in 2nd even with no need.

RB so high always feels weird to me. Has to become a helluva player to feel like good value

Honestly, putting anyone other than Campbell at LB1 is just weird. It's just people convinced that the safety/LB hybrid are the only way to LB anymore. Campbell is massive, has elite presence and instincts, and hits every athletic threshold you would need. He's a great addition.

The RB thing they're trying to say he's going to be more receiver than RB in that hybrid kind of role, but we'll see.

I think a lot of the hate also comes from them draft RB when they have Swift and just signed FA Montgomery.

Not sure if its been mentioned, but apparently Lions are looking to trade Swift. Which makes sense.
