Interesting rule quirk I didn't know: Fairbairn's kick that went out of bounds was intentional.
By rule, in the ball is placed 25 yards from the spot of the kick. They kicked from the 50 due to a Packer's personal foul, so we had to start the drive from the 25. Had they kicked into the EZ, GB would've started at the 30.
Yup. Kicking out of bounds is 25 yards from the spot of the kick. Usual kick spot is 35 yardline so 25 yards is putting the ball at the 40. In this case, the ball was at the 50 so kicking out of bounds put it at the 25.
Frankly great job by the Texans coaches. Very few knew of that yesterday and it was the best move on their end.
While, yes, this is 100% Love's fault. It was a huge gamble by Pitre that paid off. If he read Love's eyes, or just jumped the inside route, we will never know, but you can kind of see the thought process here. It's man coverage across the board under a 2 high shell. Pitre completely jumps the Wicks hook and leaves Doubs WIDE open. I can definitely see why Love would go Wicks against a LB. Sometimes you have to tip your hat to the defense.

Think about this. Aside from THREE turnovers and Reed's dumb punt return at the 2, we could've realistically beaten the Texans by two full scores.
And how often are we praising our kicker and punter the same week?
And we are keeping up with Detroit and Minny.
And more backups (Wilson, etc.) are emerging.
And we win a sloppy game against a good team.
And our GOOD defense maybe outplayed their good defense (even while they lacked some starters).
So, this is a good day! Celebrate now. But definitely clean up sloppy stuff tomorrow. There is plenty to work on.
But that did happen
Hey, for sure. It did. NO denying that.
This speaks to reckless behavior and how it almost cost us another home game. But it also speaks to leaving more points on the field (or giving points away, if you prefer).
This needs to be cleaned up. We can't do so many errors like that against the best teams. And we do need to start beating the best teams.

I’m not generally a fan of Nagler but he makes a good point here.
We’re witnessing a young QB trying to figure out just how good he can be. There will be great plays…and there will be mistakes. In order to arrive at the best version of Jordan Love, he’s gotta go through these lessons. Enjoy bearing witness to it.
After Further Review having endured what seemed like a never ending sequence of mishaps, bad execution on the offensive line, and questionable offensive play calls. Remembering that this was a banged up Texans team not capable of running on all of their cylinders. Very frustrating sitting or standing watching this game ebb and flow. And then out of effen freakin nowhere pseudo reminiscent of the great Ice Bowl drive Jordan moves the offense into a field goal try from the 45 yard line. And the kicker made it !!!!!!!!!!! Super outpouring of elation both inside Lambeau and out in the parking lots. OBTW the Texans fans are great people.
Packers didn't deserve to win this game but I'll take it anyway. Doubs and Kraft and the 2 safeties are my players of the game. Nice to see Jerry and James get another day in the sun as well.
Big stretch ahead now vs. Detroit, Chicago and Niners. Let's see how Jordan continues to mature.

I don’t believe he should be babied at 5 years in the league and being paid in the top 5 at QB per APY. At that point you need to perform and carry. 8 INTs in 5 games is atrocious.
That said the big plays are there but he’s been bailed out A TON so far this season.

I agree with you. Love can't handle pressure. He never could and he still can't. In this game the Oline was pathetic against a wounded defense. No way that Love can be a great QB with that kind of pressure. So there are several problems:
#1 Love needs to stop throwing into double coverage.
#2 Love needs to stop forcing a throw when he has extreme pressure. Someone has to be close to the sideline, throw it high and maybe the receiver can jump for it or else it sails out of bounds. Or else throw it low where a DB with bad hands probably can't catch it if it is off target.
#3 The Oline, both guards and the LT just plain suck. Tom is playing well and Myers is inconsistent. But WTH happened to Jenkins? He used to be good? It may be time to start giving Morgan snaps at LT. Because Walker's performance is poorer than last year.
#4. MLF needs to scheme for pressure. More draws and screens. It seems that end arounds no longer work. It will help when Love is more mobile again. Can Jacobs or Wilson or Kraft throw the ball? If not put Willis at RB and see if anyone notices. - hey it worked for years for New Orleans, having 2 QB's on the field at the same time.
Thank God for the D being a top 5 D, otherwise the Packers would be winless
