From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
Ah, no it's not. As a long-time photographer, I can assure you it's not. It's close, but not directly. And every degree off from 90 makes a huge difference depending on how high the camera is.
Let's go back to this. You claimed 2 things every degree off makes a huge difference and the overheard view was 8 yards back because you know since you are a long time photographer.
So, if it is 1 degrees off the camera would have to be 458 yards high to be 8 yards back. At 2 degrees it would have had to be 229 yards high. At 3 degrees it would have to be 152 yards high. At 4 degrees it would have to be 114 yards high. At 5 degrees it would have had to be 91 yards high. At 10 degrees it is 45 yards high. Etc.. etc... There is no chance the camera is more than 100 feet off the ground.
Just admit you have no idea wtf you are talking about and just trying to make excuses for a bad call.
And those numbers are based off of what focal length for the lens? Next, you will tell me that doesn't make a difference.
I'm not making an excuse for a bad call. I even said it was a bad call. I said you can't tell anything from the photo. Learn the difference. Reading comprehension is your friend.
Haha, come on man admit you have zero $%@# clue! Are you really trying to posit that the camera is using a negative focal length (fish eye lens)...
There is no way that camera I more that 100 feet off the ground, thus making your assumption that it is 8 yards back and that every degree makes a huge difference, Wrong!
You have said it is a bad call, yet continue to argue that there is no proof it was a bad call. There is proof, it was a bad call.

What's the focal length of the camera? With out that, you have no idea how high it is. Period.
And for the third effing time. It was a bad call. But if you win or lose on a bad call before the half, who is that really on? They had the second half to make it up.
I came into this world KICKING and screaming, naked, and covered in blood that wasn't mine.
I am prepared to go out the same way if I need to.
&%$@ call on the FG. Who cares. This offense scored 3 points in the first half despite starting with the ball.
This team is mediocre. A fine team. They aren’t a good team. They sure as hell aren’t a great team. The coaching staff is fine but they have the 3rd best HC, the 3rd best DC, the 3rd best playcalled on offense, and the third best roster in the NFC North. All those things combined and you end up not only 3rd in the division but a convincing 3rd.
We had people defending this team beating a division leading Texans that played 6 games against the Titans, Jags, and Colts. Or beating the eliminated Cardinals. Or beating the soon to be eliminated Seahawks. Or beating the a Kupp and Pukaless Rams.

No. The Packers have a really good team this year. Their record shows it. There just happens to be 3 other teams that are even better than the Packers. Let's not be overdramatic.

I definitely know the camera isn't over 100 feet from the ground because I have seen these cameras at games! So yes, I do have an idea of how high it is. you keep trying to tell us it was 8 yards back though! ass whooping again!
If it's a bad call stop arguing that there isn't proof it was a bad call!!!

Free rusher which Love avoids. Ultimately it is Walker who gives up the sack. He was not good yesterday.

See the bolded part.

The Packers are capable of playing with anybody. To do so, though, it requires them to play competent, disciplined football.
No silly alignment penalties that stall drives. No dropped passes that kill drives. No missing on downfield throws to open receivers that are juuuust off. No blown coverages that make for easy TDs and 1st downs.
They’ve shown they’re capable of playing at that level but, for whatever reason, they haven’t done it consistently against the top competition this year and those teams make them pay.
Call it tightness, choking, immaturity…whatever. They just haven’t and it’s frustrating to watch.
I believe this Packers team is capable of beating the best teams, bar none. They simply need to play to the level they’re capable while eliminating the dumb stuff. Plain and simple.
If @Scott4Pack or anyone else want to reframe this as some kind of petty “better than/not as good” argument, have at it. I won’t waste my time with inane arguments.
I couldn't argue a single thing that you wrote above. Still, this Packer team has not played well against the best teams. The best teams have been better. The results prove it. It isn't just a one-time thing. We have five games to draw from. The Packers are not at the level that the Lions, Vikes, and Eagles are. That isn't a silly argument. Again, five games state the case pretty well.
You have, once again, argued a point I never made.
Again, the point I'm trying to highlight is the Packers, for whatever reason, do not play their best ball, or even competent football for that matter, when facing the best competition this year. Alignment issues, drops, coverage lapses, etc. Silly mistakes that, when combined, kill drives and lose ball games.
These mistakes have nothing to do with what the other team is doing or who is better than who. The Packers are beating themselves. It's frustrating to watch as a fan.
Yes, the Packers are 0-5 against the elite teams in the conference. Those teams are "better" than the Packers. However, if the Packers collectively pull their heads from their ass and eliminate those repeated self-destructive plays, they can beat any one of them. Of that I have no doubt.
Peace, brother. I've highlighted your point above for emphasis. That is exactly the point that I've been making, just in different words.
:-)
Instead of me saying that those other teams are "better" perhaps it's better for the forum if I state my case this way instead. "If the Pack played 10 games against any of the Lions/Vikes/Eagles, they would probably win 1 or 2 of them." If others in the forum get stuck on me saying the Pack are not "better" (or for that matter "equal"), then maybe this'll help.

My gawd there was no offsides on that kick. It was a horrendous call. Atrocious call. Absolutley uncalled for penalty that gifted MN 3 points.
It is what it is. But there is no need to get geometry in play. Clearly, clearly, clearly there was no Packer offsides. If you have to get geometry involved and camera angle arguments going....then it is pretty clear a call should have never been made to begin with.
we have been very close to encroachment all season, I must have mentioned it with LVN 3 or 4 games, eventually, the officials will come down hard on it, and they have, right or wrong, why coaches allow players to push that issue as though several inches actually makes that big a difference is mind numbing, these procedural issues are a sign of poor coaching.
Don't excuse the call. It was a bad call.
This is the NFL. Everything is on the line. Every inch counts in this game of inches. It is literally called the game of inches.
Stop excusing the call. The Packers did nothing wrong on that play.
it may or may not have been a bad call, the point is Refs watch film too, and likely have gotten away with encroachment that didn't get called prior, lis, I brought it up before with LVN who I saw over the ball in the past
a game of inches, it's a game of yards when ya get called for it, not worth the risk imo.
Is Brenton Cox like seriously entering the conversation of our best edge defender?
Yes. Absolutely.
When we brought him in, the issues that reduced him to UDFA were never about talent. It was said that if he could clean up the personal issues, he had a real good shot. Then, he barely made the 53. In fact, I wondered if he was on the bubble. I worried that if we released him in the PS that another team would snatch him for sure. I'm glad that he's here. He's stout at the LOS and quick/fast to the QB with force.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!

We were out coached and not prepared. It felt like we went in with the mindset don't show alot bc we are in the playoffs. This idea pisses me off bc the goal should have been to beat the hell out of a div rival going for the 1 seed. Vanilla looks on O and low snap counts again on d. 2nd viking drive of the game Gary and Clark are not on the field. That's crap. If we were playing the game like it's not that important then the focus should be to win 1 on 1s. That didn't happen at all positions. Wrs dline and oline all were not good enough
Secondary was not awful. With no pressure this viking wrs group will carve up anyone. Darold had all damn day and their wrs made plays. Hat tip to their wrs. Boo to our pass rushers (they were trash)
Edge Coop is an absolute stud. He will be an all pro. Wow
Love played stupid. Instead of taking what's there he wanted home runs. I can't stand 3rd and short shot plays that Brady said "zero chance" of completion. This needs to stop. &%$@ plays are fine if the match up is there
Wrs sucked. And the gosh they played man more then expected. So chance it up. Love did say we need to win our 1 on 1s. Goes back to my gripe GB players didn't win their individual battles.
Why is tucker and reed not being used more?
Watson matters!
OL got out hustled
To many mistakes. Good teams don't make the mistakes GB does. Penalties at the worst times, dropped passes and fumbles are gonna get you beat.
Got to start better. These 1st half dumpster fires have become a tendency to ML in big games. He was pissed today in his presser. That's cool and he's cute but let's see some change.
Good things imo
This team is good enough. I don't buy the we aren't on the same level as the 3 other teams. We are close and young and dumb enough to serve them a big old &%$@ burger in the playoffs. Philly might have the best roster with the weakest staff. Lions are so beat up on d it will be their downfall. Minn is well coached with a team imo overachieving. That's not a knock. I respect their quick turnaround and a unit playing as one (GB needs to get to that) but player for player I'll take a healthy gb
Next week should be about guys winning their individual battles and doing their 1/11 to achieve the common goal each play. Then go upset philly round 1. I still believe. LFG
&%$@ call on the FG. Who cares. This offense scored 3 points in the first half despite starting with the ball.
Exactly. Who cares. This team just got its ass kicked.
Back in my day a 2 point loss wasn't getting your ass kicked. Maybe you youngsters these days have a different outlook though.

Accountability is how we move forward and improve. Not through finger pointing. Not through blaming the refs. There are bad calls every game. I don't want to hear it. Let's be better.
