Back in my day a 2 point loss wasn't getting your ass kicked. Maybe you youngsters these days have a different outlook though.
Accountability is how we move forward and improve. Not through finger pointing. Not through blaming the refs. There are bad calls every game. I don't want to hear it. Let's be better.
Not sure how you heard any of that, but,

Are there any in this forum who would bring in Calais Campbell? Rumors are that he will be available.
I haven't watched him enough to know how effective his pass rush is any more. He's been a stud for a long time. But at 38... Just don't know.

Who cares. This offense scored 3 points in the first half despite starting with the ball.

If you consider that a real 2 point loss. We were down 27-10 going into the 4th. It wasn’t any different than the last game against the Vikings. They whipped our ass all day and then played the clock game to put themselves in position to win.
And you want to talk about coping lol.

We were a ball hitting the ground on the Jefferson "catch" not being reviewed from getting the ball back looking for 3 to win the game. Yep. I call that a real 2 point loss.
Ya, I understand people cope by giving up. I don't get it, but I understand people are that way.

It was remarkable that the Pack got back within 2 points. Even the announcers agreed about that, for what it's worth. Fact is, yeah, it turned into something more fun at the end for many folks. But we know the Vikes whooped us. There isn't any doubt about that.
If the Vikes had the misfortune of fumbling away the ball at the end and the Pack ends up an unlikely winner, nobody would turn around and say any different than how "lucky" the Pack would have been, or that the Vikes gave it away. Nobody would say the Pack truly beat the Vikes. They would have gotten the W, but they didn't beat the Vikes (or some symbolic stuff like that).

Holy &%$@ calls go different ways all the time. Same cope &%$@ against the Lions. “If just one call goes our way!”
I don’t give a damn about the Jefferson catch. Or the FG offsides. The reason we lost this game is because we got the &%$@ kicked out of us up and down the field for the first 3 quarters of play and even when the game was on the line we got the &%$@ kicked out of us again.
Was no different against the Lions. Was no different against the first game against the Vikings.

There are many reasons why. 2 point losses are not getting your ass kicked no matter how you want to look at it. That's especially true in this one where we had a chance to pull it out if we got a defensive stop at the end.
Gotta play 60 minutes of football. No excuses.
Hyperbole is fun, but it isn't worth a whole hell of a lot and is pretty counterproductive to any real conversation with substance.

Having 142 yards of offense with 9:20 seconds left in the fourth quarter and 10 points isn't getting your ass kicked. It's just football.

To be honest, the Vikes didn’t kick our ass. We made it way too easy for them to win. They are a very good team, but the Packers went back to making mistakes like pre-snap penalties, poor wr work, OL inconsistencies, poor decisions and coaching preparation and adjustments. These same mistakes have haunted us for a good share of the year, but I thought they had been cleaned up recently. Obviously this is not the case. I was impressed with how disciplined and well coached the Vikes were. These types of mistakes should not still be happening this late in the season.
We certainly have the ability to make some noise in the playoffs, but I don’t have much faith in that happening. We are going into the 17th game of the season. We are who we show we are. I think some people on this forum thought we are better than we have shown against good teams. Some tend to react very negatively to this. But really, we have been making these mistakes all season for the most part. I think we are still in need of more playmakers to hang with the better teams and not have to play a perfect game.
While I was very disappointed with the offense yesterday, the lack of any pass rush is putting too much pressure on the defense. These types of secondary is average at best and need a pass rush to pressure the QB and not just when we are way ahead. These types of refs sucked, but we didn’t lose because of the refs. The Vikes played and coached better than us.

Did we pull out all the stops to win? No. Did we try anything special on O or D. No. We played pretty vanilla, screwed our chances, and lost. We made a lot of mistakes in a game you don't want to lose but wasn't the end of the season. Until we get beat playing all out for our lives in the playoffs then it's over. I expect to be better next time and to score when we move the ball deep in their territory. There are 3 very good teams in front of us. They aren't the greatest teams in history. We don't play them all at once. Get past the first one and see what happens.
Stomp duh bares and head to the playoffs.

Not me, that's for sure. I made the mistake of looking at the NFL rulebook about illegal blocks, and holy hell it would take an actual lawyer to decipher all that crap. I stopped after wading into "tight end boxes" and "close-line play"... Frankly, I have no idea how the refs don't do a worse job than they currently are.

Glad to see you admit this.
In this case it is legal to do along the line of scrimmage. Defenders usually go low themselves or some try to jump the low block.

when you can't do &%$@ for 3 quarters, then bring the game close because the opposing defense goes prevent, then you absolutely got your butt kicked, and you damn well know it, quit acting like hail merry comebacks is the preferred way to play the damn game.
if we did this, if only we did that, nothing but excuses, our offenses struggles every time we play a top tier team, our passing success is dependent on high risk big chunk plays, miraculous catches, minus them and we are not even in the PO's
all season we've said "we haven't played our best yet" so true, and Sunday was a great example of it.

For me, "getting your butt kicked" involves entering the realm of onside kicks, going for it on 4th and long, desperation passes into coverage and actual Hail Mary situations.
Instead, our comeback included zero onside kicks, zero 4th downs, and zero desperation passes. Being down by 2 with over 2 minutes to play and all timeouts left is in my books a close game that came down to the wire.
Yes, Minny foolishly went prevent too early in 4th Q. That's their fault (heck, if it had been us, we'd be screaming at our DC), and kudos to our O for taking full advantage. I personally don't care who dominates what part of the game or when the scoring happens. No, it was not my preferred way of playing, but I sure am happy the team didn't quit like their fans. Had Minny lost, there woulda been no consolation in being on top for 3 quarters.
I'm obviously disappointed we didn't get a stop on their final drive, but we had a more than a prayer. We had an actual fair chance of coming out with the win.
Now, are there legitimate concerns? Yes. All of the top teams have very good Olines, and we only had 7 sacks combined in our 5 losses. Even with every rusher healthy, I dunno whether we can generate enough pressure. And our receiving corps would need emergency catching hands transplants to keep drives going and score enough vs the top dogs.
We're not good enough to beat any of them on a bad day. But I believe we absolutely can on a good one.

We lost by 2. "If MN didn't play prevent...." Why play the "if game" on the other lense?
The last 6 minutes are just as valuable as any other 6 minutes period. We were one first down stop from having a chance in a game we played below our standards.
Definitely not a SB favorite. But this team can beat anyone as long as they don't beat themselves.

2 points or not, the Packers were handily outplayed and out coached. The fact they were able to close the scoring gap in the final minutes is a testament to their feistiness and grit but let’s not fool ourselves; the Packers were on the receiving end of solid beating on Sunday night.
