I don't get the defending of Rodgers as if he can do no wrong and only the receivers are to blame. That is simply not true. Rodgers has had accuracy issues all season and it seems somewhat worse since the injury to his thumb. Of course it is not all his fault. I'm not sure you can find anyone on the team who is not somewhat to blame for the poor play we have witnessed. I think I am most disappointed in the coaching staff. Unfortunately, quite often mental mistakes likes the Packer players are making can be laid at the coaches feet. The overall lack of discipline and focus have become endemic with this team. It also shows a lack of leadership from the players. Like everyone else, I really hope they can turn things around. But, it's not as easy as flipping a switch.

At least you now admit the current stable of recievers suck. Progress.
Dude was championing Lazard around like he was the second coming.
Ruvell Martin with more snaps.
If you have some time go back to the Sammy Watkins signing thread.

There is enough talent at WR to run a competent offense. Them, coupled with a running game that is leaned on and a QB who plays within himself and up to his ability ( and pay scale) and they'd be sufficient. No, they won't break any scoring records but they'd be good enough.

The brain trust can't manage that, though. And by brain trust, I am referring to LeFluer, Stenovich, and yes Rodgers. None of them are performing to the standard with which they need to.

I don't expect Doubs to carry this team. I expect the brain trust to devise a plan that leans on players/positions of talent while managing the weaker links of the offense. LeFluer/Stenovich/Rodgers throwing it on 35 of 47 offensive plays is just plain stupid and works completely against the talent on this roster.
Yesterday Doubs couldn't catch so maybe use him just as a distraction?
The Oline just gave away penalties with no pressure/blitz all game.
RBs put us back yards with negative first down runs.

When you go back and look at each series you will see penalties and poor rushing put us in bad yardage positions and then the def just went shell 2 man. Our Wrs can't get open or catch and the Oline can barely deal with 4 man.

This is a bad group on offense.

1 first round pick in 10 years in a back up QB. I would have to be that with the number of picks we have had no other team has been at bad at managing talent on that side of the ball.

Ive just listened to a ton of Packers podcasts today just to gage the beat and Im very proud of them for what theyre doing. Theyre taking matters into their own ands and spreading awareness for ow truly bad Gutey and Lafleur are and by extension Murphy. The Packers without an owner are essentially in the customer service business and right now theyre failing miserably.

I said it after Lafleurs first year we have to see what he is able to do without Rodgers to truly know if hes a good coach. Then after that Chiefs game I just knew he wasnt. The guy cant adjust. He doesnt game plan well. Hes clueless to his own personnel and their strengths. His assistant coaching decisions have been atrocious. All things he is being called out for today.

Gutenkunst is finally being seen for the moron that he is. I gave him is fair shot but it was very clear early on that he was an idiot. But even the patient fake fans ave to see this now even if they wont say it out loud. A whole draft class has come and gone and we got 1 player out of 11 picks. People want to say it takes 3/4 years to know if a class was good well thats one hell of a &%$@ class. Next year we come away pretty much with Gary and Jenkins and blew 3 picks trading up for Savage. The next class had 9 picks and only one of them is starting for us in year 3 and hes got just a 60 PFF grade on the year. Then youve got last years class starting to already take shape into being another stinker. Another ting I said the beat is catching onto. Stokes had a good year for a rookie last year but dont get it twisted, it was not a good year. He is incapable on making plays on the ball so QBs dont worry about giving their guys a chance.

Another thing I have been preaching on here over and over and over. Ive said "The Packers need to take their medicine" referring to the cap and dumping their bad contracts sooner. Turner should have been cut sooner (should have never given him that garbo deal to begin with). Lewis should have never been resigned. Jones should have never been resigned after the Dillon pick. They chose to keep the wrong Smith! You dont make the Love pick and you probably dont !@#$ Rodgers off into forcing us to trade for a bad Cobb contract.

This team is royally screwed by this regime and the craziest part is theyre gonna get away with it for another year too.

I won’t push back on any of this. I’m not as dead set as you are to him being incompetent, I’m mostly just dissatisfied with his performance this year. He’s better than he’s shown, I want him to show it. Like yesterday already.

Funny thing about all those players: your boy Rodgers was the guy actively pushing back against getting rid of every one of those guys. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t in terms of pissing off the diva.

I did like the draw plays Lafleur called. And they were successful. I’ve been wondering for about 13 years why the Packers don’t run the draw play when they’re QBs are getting killed.

lol

We run the ball yesterday - negative yards - backed up.

Otherwise penalty - backed up.

Such a bad take - we literally lost because of blocked punt return and FG in the playoffs last year.

Kevin King got killed by lobs which were jump balls by Brady. Our receivers dropping balls.

Rodgers should be audibling out of runs more when they are getting negative yards.

Unless the team comes out and says Rodgers is changing plays from run to pass there is no basis for this argument. It's on the coach.

You believe rodgers would hand it off 35 times a game throughout a season as long as it led to wins?

I do not.

stay off the stools and buy some tools, this is over the top even for you.

Turner was a 3rd or 4th rated RT the year before we let him go, Lewis is the best blocking TE in the biz, ya don't dump these players till there replaced, not as though we have RT's galore, Lewis is showing his age, I'll give ya that, still the best blocking TE we have.

Jones has more then earned his contract,

you would second guess any GM we could have, I sure don't agree with much he's done, but he's hit on some very good defensive picks.

this is Stokes second season, just because he doesn't get it as fast as Alexander doesn't make him a bust.

the Love pick seemed idiotic, but with a power struggle with Rodgers prior, what should we expect Gute to do? I agree, that pick sucked, but after the dust settled it didn't surprise me.
just because the guy wont appease Rodgers with Ferrari WR's doesn't make everything he's done worthless :dunno:

Only 2 runs all game went for a loss... 1st and goal at the 1 for -1 and we scored on the next play. The Jones play where he was hit for -2 or -3, got out of that tackle, run backward, and was dropped for -6. Punted on that drive. Both in the first half.

Honestly the guy that should be traded in the wonderful packer himself, the mayor of door county, AJ Dillon.

AJ could garner a haul in terms of running backs and Jones is still under contract for two years. Plus hill is coming back.

Why should AJ be traded? Because with a guy like AJ you try to win the war, you don’t care so much about the battles. There just isn’t enough ball to give him what he needs to really be effective. Dillon is Derrick Henry. You give him the ball 15 times in first half and 7 of those could easily be for no gain. But you smile while it’s happening. Why? Because after about his 25th carry in quarter 4 the defense doesn’t want any part of him anymore. They are tired of getting popped in the mouth. Those 3 yard runs become 8.

This strategy also uses clock and allows the defense to rest.

We have no Where near the patience to run this style tho. Hell, even people on this forum want to punt on the run after two runs that don’t gain yards lol.

You keep pushing that same negative run plays and penalties narrative in post after post.

The Packers had two negative yardage runs yesterday (-6, -1). The -1 yd carry came at the goal line on the 2nd drive and they scored a TD on the next play. They also had 4 enforced penalties called on the offense, two on one drive. So three drives impacted by penalties. Your continued depiction of the run game and penalties being the main hindrance to the offense is completely overblown.

That, and I guess no offense has ever had to overcome a penalty to be successful.

Every other run went for positive yardage (83% pos yd success rate) yet Rodgers opted to pass on 35 of 47 offensive plays with the receiver corps you continually depict as inept. And that was playing with a lead for much of the game.

Rodgers and LeFluer are both on record saying Rodgers has complete control of plays and that he has green light to opt in or out of play calls.

So what is your explanation for having a 12/35 run-pass ratio?

Following is plays before punts

4 yard run, 2 yard run, incomplete to Lazard, punt

Holding penalty -10 yards, 7 yard run, incomplete to Doubs, 7 yard pass, punt

- 6 yard run, holding penalty -10 yards, incomplete tonyan, incomplete jones, punt

holding penalty -10 yards, 8 yard pass, incomplete pass watkins, incomplete doubs, formation penalty - 5 yards, punt

4 yard pass, 4 yard run, incomplete to doubs, punt

incomplete watkins, 0 yard run, 9 yard pass, incomplete doubs

There it is. Penalties set us back. Poor runs hurt in each of them. Poor drops form receivers.

You run a lot more when you don't have penalties, are not getting into third downs and have the lead.

We were getting penalties, we were getting to third downs and at times were not in the lead.

As I said, 3 drives impacted by penalties. Insurmountable for a 4-time MVP. I suppose so when you’re throwing all those incompletions behind or at your receivers feet.

Only missed pass was the Amari one. Doesn't really work with him maybe more offseason reps would help but doubt Amari gets them anyway.

Doubs passed is designed that way - Doubs has to know where the first down line is. Guy can't catch covid.
