I am sure Charles Robinson is very connected and he should be the one to believe, so let's take it for gospel. The point is, let's not take much for fact at this time. There were a plethora of reports that came out this weekend that were proven false within hours.
"Aaron hasn't said anything like that to me and certainly hasn't said anything publicly," he said, per ESPN.com. "I think that's a little unfair to put that on him. Certainly don't like to hear those things, but no, nothing's been communicated directly to me."
The Packers are committed to Rodgers. For 3 more years. The are especially committed to him for 2021 as it costs more to trade him than to sit him. He is also a $17 million dead cap number for 2022. As long as he is playing well the Packers are not committed to Rodgers for the next 2 seasons.
It seems they were committed to him for 2021 but not sure on the rest ... Dead cap wise could definitely be traded by the team 2022
spot on, no adults in the room at Lambeau, it's pass the buck from Murphy on down, to think Guty wasn't eyeing up buying his own QB is to think nothing happened prior that pissed him off, like the last season of Rodgers demonstrating how enept McCarthys passing schemes had become, guty had to be boiling when he was forced to fire McCarthy because Rodgers would have nothing to do with Mike and had resorted to calling the plays himself, then we have the Lafluer hiring where Rodgers was told to butt out, the hiring was none of his business, then Guty gets his QB, seems like the fire was smoldering in this relationship even before Guty got the GM job and he's had it out for AR as soon as he got the job, no wonder Rodgers has given the ultimatum, he goes or I do.

Nothing wrong with what Nagler said there. Rodgers can be upset about his deal. Rodgers can be upset with the pick of Love, however sophomoric. The team should have given more of a heads up. The team should not have extended Rodgers if acquiring a replacement was as close as it was.
None of that calls for what is going on at this moment.

The restructure the Packers offered fully guaranteed his salary for the next 3 seasons. Why isn't that considered committing to Rodgers? Why is it that only an extension is?
*Note this is not fact, but illustrates how little actually is fact in this situation.

Yoop , I think you should bludgeon the forum with your Rodgers-McCarthy “genesis-of-the-rift theory” another 18,000 times just to make sure the forum catches on to what you’re selling.

nothing I just said is wrong either, and as a result of that Rodgers feels dis respected, and he wants the guarantee that baring a injury and play decline he is assured of finishing his present contract as our starting QB, wouldn't take much for the FO to get that done, so whats the hold up? that should have been taken care of months ago, what seems obvious is that Guty is intent on trading Rodgers after the 2022 season at the latest for draft compensation and control that Rodgers doesn't become a division foe.

just maybe if people would quit defending this FO I'd give it a rest

Little to nothing suggests this is reality.

At what point is Murphy taken to the woodshed over this? He has been a major part of the organization mishandling TWO situations involving HOF QBs. Both times he was the top guy in charge, buck stops with him. Then all of the non-football crap he has done/said with incomplete or incorrect information. Put it all together, he just looks like another ivory tower (Northwestern and D.C. pedigree)... I better stop there.

Murphy bought himself some time with the hire of MLF. That one decision extended his life and power, for better or worse.

Can we put up a poll on this thread to see where everyone stands?
4 options: 1) More on the FO side; 2) More on Rodgers' side; 3) Everyone screwed up equally; 4) Don't know yet

To me the blame falls completely at the feet of the front office. You have a premier franchise player who you don’t think needs to know anything. You don’t have to give him any power to make decisions but he should at least be kept in the loop. Especially when we all know this guy is salty about everything.
Ultimately you can’t fire an entire organization because a player said so. You’d be handing over any leverage you have in the future because you’d be seen as a pushover. If Rodgers won’t play you have to trade him. It is what it is.
With that if Love doesn’t become a pro bowl QB and can’t lead this team to playoff wins you fire the entire front office and try and keep LaFleur. If Love doesn’t workout it will go down as the worst pick in Packers history. Not only because he was a bust but because that pick undid a potentially great team. I think if Love fails hopefully Gute and Murphy have great retirement plans in place because neither will ever get a job in their current positions again.
A lot is riding on Love being good. It worked out for TT and MM. we will see if history repeats but the chances of a QB being better than the greatest to ever do it is slim.
I don't know a single person here who would say that the Packers are blameless in this. Or Murphey specifically. Maybe there is one. But I think we can settle it that more than one side or one person is to blame for this mess.
Now that THAT is settled (yeah, right), how is Aaron Rodgers going to respond to this? He has options here, folks. And there is more than one way to express displeasure for how he was handled. And Aaron Rodgers is not taking the high road.
The restructure the Packers offered fully guaranteed his salary for the next 3 seasons. Why isn't that considered committing to Rodgers? Why is it that only an extension is?

I'm with you on this, but I can tell you the why. It's because a restructure still only uses the existing timeline where Aaron is out in 3 years, max. An extension is what gives Aaron what he wants the most, more time to be the starter in GB.
The real problem here is this. Guty doesn't want to offer that. I don't blame him. And it's hard for a guy like Rodgers to accept. I don't blame him for that either. But when we're discussing a 40+ year old QB, no matter how great he is or has been, he isn't going to get all the offers that he wants.

#1 Yes, the FO is not blameless but Rodgers wants what is best for Rodgers and the team and fans be damned. The FO basically wants SB's.

This is one of the very few things I’ve ever agreed with Florio on:
Mike Florio from PFT wrote:
“If he wants out, he needs to say something more than ‘my future is a beautiful mystery’ or whatever else he has said in a vague way before acting like he didn’t drop a proverbial (or literal) turd in the punch bowl. Put simply, he needs to become as clear and direct about his objectives for his future football career as he’s been about his objectives for his potential career as the host of Jeopardy! He hasn’t been afraid to say he wants that job. If he wants out of Green Bay, the time has come for him to say so.”

Same, and what's odd about this is that the general court of public opinion has not really been all that favorable to Rodgers, and you'd think some of the things like "He will not return unless Gutey is fired" things, he'd want to get in front of from a PR perspective.
Overall, this situation is just weird because it's out of character for Rodgers, considering he's such a control freak about his image and legacy.

Yeah, my general sense on this is like 80-90% of people turned on Aaron for this, especially that "the gm goes or I don't play" story. Basically noone on earth can empathize with "I'm not showing up for my 40M/yr contract unless my boss is fired because he doesn't show me enough respect." That is beyond tone deaf. Basically no other QB in the NFL could even pull this nonsense, and all it does is screw the fans.
People have turned on Aaron much, much, much harder than they did Brett. His people have to see this, this is a total PR disaster for Aaron ATM.
I mean my mom, who lives in Wi but only marginally follows football (watches most Packer games though) is completely disgusted by the situation and thinks GB need to get rid of him immediately because Aaron is being a big jerk.
