Yes! And when you start to go back and pull every 1st round pick from the last 10 years for us, it gets pretty depressing. Hopefully we can turn that around, otherwise we're going to have to continue to live in Free Agency to stay competitive.

I think so. Pretty worn out, but that isn't too abnormal. From a football sense, I'm getting pretty tired of Gute and his bad picks.go pak go wrote: ↑27 Jan 2025 08:56Everything okay personally?

Just bad first round picks. Everything else he has done (day 2 and day 3 and FA) has been incredible. I truly believe the Eagles are the Packers for the exception that the Eagles get way more value out of round 1 with either trades or hits. And that is why they are going to the SB and we lost to them.wallyuwl wrote: ↑27 Jan 2025 09:38I think so. Pretty worn out, but that isn't too abnormal. ahhhhhhh, jmo, impossible, positions matter, ya can't field a defense minus CB and pass rushers, same with QB,WR, and RB on offense, if ya need those players they become a priority, and it's been this way for all teams since the 1970 mergers and expansion to more teams, and even more so since the addition of UFA, ya just can't load up on positions or keep these players since then
we draft DL hoping to increase pass rush because without that the odds of winning drop drastically, same with coverage, same with QB, WR, and we just witnessed how important a bell cow RB can be.
I remember hearing of G's or C's, or TE's etc. being the best at their position in many years in draft classes, and no one picked them top 10, BPA has with it discernment, how much am I willing to abandon obvious needs elsewhere

This is not another BPA vs Postional need arguement. This was a response to Acrobat's post.

I see a lot of DTs in the mocks, so if one of the top ones falls probably good value. There are several free agent options for CB. OL or Edge is possible. Either Texas WR Bond or Ohio State WR Egbuka will probably be there at GB pick.

I think DT, Edge Rusher, or CB will be our first round pick, we'll see, but Clark will need to be replaced soon, and this seems like a pretty good DT class.lake shark wrote: ↑27 Jan 2025 11:44I see a lot of DTs in the mocks, so if one of the top ones falls probably good value. haaaa, ya never see a star till the good Lord exposes them, and that's typically after there drafted, unfortunately there not stamped or branded like prime Herfords

hopefully Cooper becomes our Mathews of years ago, and look at the years it took to get another of that caliber

Daniel Jeremiah did his first mock, he has us taking a DE that fits the mold we have been drafting.

I'm more interested in who else he had available. He has my early draft favorite going in the teens (Barron). I am intrigued by the CB he has going to Baltimore. The other prospects taken after us don't interest me a whole lot, but I think that OSU WR was also available? I'd take him over a DE.

Jadhe Barron is my favorite player to us. A defensive back who can play anywhere. He is currently in late rd 1 and into Rd2 on a lot of boards but I agree with Jeremiah that he will continue to rise up the stocks in the Industrial Draft Complex world as we get closer to April.Labrev wrote: ↑27 Jan 2025 13:37Daniel Jeremiah did his first mock, he has us taking a DE that fits the mold we have been drafting.

Bisaccia is back for two more years as the assistant head coach and lead of our special teams who was ranked last this year and never eclipsed the top 20 in the league while he was in charge. Yet, there has to be reasons why he remained with the team and didn't get booted. Thoughts?

I think two things...
1.) He isn't a very good ST coordinator. He is fine, but not good.
2.) He provides value to this team above and beyond his ST responsibilities.

ML respects him but I think he's to loyal to a guy that his teams unit hasn't been good. ML also struggled this year and Busaccia was one of the most conservative coaches according to Pete Burkowski.

I also like him. Compact tough dude that can move around. I think he flys up the board though. Good playergo pak go wrote: ↑27 Jan 2025 14:01Jadhe Barron is my favorite player to us. I really wonder what the separate unit grades will be when Gosselin puts out his stuff.
We were middle of the pack in FG% even after the atrocious start.
Top in XP%.
10th best in kickoff coverage average yards.
4th least number of touchbacks.
Middle of the pack in kickoff return average yards.
Pretty poor in explosive kickoff returns though (6th worst 20+ yarders).
We never fumbled a kickoff return (until the playoff game).
7th worst in punt average, 5th worst in net average.
Bottom third in inside the 20.
Middle of the pack in fair catch.
Gave up 1 fake Punt TD.
Punt Return average was 10th worst.
Fumbled 3 punts, didn't block a punt.
This doesn't scream bottom of the league to me. We need to be better, NO DOUBT.
My bigger question is this game manager role, did he have this in 2024 or is this being added in 2025?

Underwhelming to say the least.
At the same time, I think we are beyond isolating blame on the ST coaches. It’s clearly a personnel, attitude, HC, culture issue. Is extreme possible Bisaccia isn’t the problem.
But haven’t seen anything done to improve this yet.

He’s one of the highest paid STs coordinators that has consistently coached a mid to bottom tier STs unit. What does he offer as the assistant head coach? Idk this team was super undisciplined all year and we struggled with clock management, decision making, and challenges all year so my perception is that he ads very little to the tactical side of the game. Does he have the respect of the players? Again idk but you had Doubs not show up to practices and get suspended, Alexander basically acting like he doesn’t want to be here next year, and Krafts comments.
All this combined leads me to believe you should be looking upgrade, not reward mediocrity. Especially considering he is one of the highest paid STs coordinators in the league. It all circles back to how this team has a lack of accountability top down IMO.

If we do not know the inner workings then how can we say this re-signing is a lack of accountability? Linking it to Alexander, Doubs, and Kraft... That's a stretch... Trying to pigeon hole this as accountability is grasping at straws.
Some of the issues we have had this year are not systemic and have not been an issue until this year. We have absolutely had special teams issues for years. I do not believe it was a last in the league year for the team as PFF says. It MUST get better though. Clock management and decisions to go for it or not have been something LaFleur was good at. He constantly rated top of the league until this year. Make no mistake he was bad this year in both areas, but it is yet to be a pattern year over year.
This isn't a harbinger of lack of accountability.
