I'm curious how Cov's units have performed. The other guys had real impressive resumes. It is good he has D-Coord experience though, even if just for one year, because we might need Hafley's replacement before long.
Interested to see how Mannion coaches up Love.

New England made it to a pair of Super Bowls during Covington’s tenure with the team, losing to the Philadelphia Eagles after the 2017 season and defeating the Los Angeles Rams the following year. Covington was a defensive assistant in each of those two years, then got a promotion to outside linebackers coach for 2019 before moving to the defensive line for good in 2020.
seems like NE kept him on after Belichick was fired, and he started coaching in college as a DL coach

Or... And wait for it... He is the right guy for the job.

guess that did come off a bit snarky, but last season was his first as a NFL assistant coach, now he's tasked with getting Love back to playing with better technique, heck I never even heard of him prior to a few hours ago, maybe Lafleur see's teaching ability, and some chemistry with Love, that was my point.
Mannion spent his first four seasons with the Rams, appearing in 10 games with one start from 2015-18. He played in a career-high five games in 2017 for the Rams when Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur was the team's offensive coordinator, and made his first NFL start in Week 17 vs. San Francisco when he threw for 169 yards on 20-of-34 passing (58.8 pct.).

So first you say we promoted him because he is tight with Love or LaFleur can't afford anyone else, then claim to mean you LaFleur might see teaching ability in Mannion... Ya, the latter is vastly different than the former...Yoop wrote: ↑30 Jan 2025 15:40guess that did come off a bit snarky, but last season was his first as a NFL assistant coach, now he's tasked with getting Love back to playing with better technique, heck I never even heard of him prior to a few hours ago, maybe Lafleur see's teaching ability, and some chemistry with Love, that was my point.
