no way i'm signing up for a 30M dollar hit plus giving picks? not a chance. I imagine it would have to be low round picks and a re-structure with any potential partner or he'll just be cut.

Yeah why argue, I'd rather stick with our current often injured and underperforming receiver corp going into and throughout 2025. In 2026 our schedule will give the Packers the opportunity to get to the NFCCG. Think of 2025 as another season for LaCoach to practice his complementary football theme narrative that has become extremely old and irritating.

2026 opponents are: CHI, MINN, DET, Carolina, Atlanta, Buffalo, Miami, NFC East, New England, New Orleans, NY Jets JETS JETS JETS, Tampa Bay, NFC West.

I have to think there are ways to improve this team much more efficiently than 30M, if that’s even the real number, and giving up picks for a good but non game changing WR.

You clearly haven’t been paying attention to Kupp’s recent injury history.

Fine and dandy but what about the 2025 opponents? :munch:

he was laying it on thick for the "eyes to the future" type posters. We'll suck in 2025 because we're more worried about the future than now but in 2026 we'll play a losers schedule.

Though if 30M has to be spent and some picks to get a player for the next season and you have a gun to my head, i'd pick Myles Garrett 100 times out of 100 over Kupp

You nailed it M-Stange man. Would love to see Gutey, Murphy and Policy actively get into another REGGIE GAME sweepstakes. As the story goes when Reggie came in town he was dismayed that Red Lobster didn't have catfish on the menu. Find out what Myles likes to eat and create a restaurant around his wishes. Packers need to learn how to compete again.

Yup, I'm all in on Garrett. I said not long ago that trading R1s for players has been proven to be a viable model to win titles, and Garrett may be the single best non-QB player you could trade for. This is your White/Woodson.

To compete again you should first understand who your audience is. The Cleveland Browns make the decision on Myles. Not Myles.

I don't think the Browns care what food Myles likes. Frankly in the day of meal delivery service and private chefs I don't think Myles cares either. He can get whatever he wants.

Kupp would fit right in with most of the Packers receivers including Musgrave, Watson, Doubs. And unfortunately Reed as well.

I hate the idea of Cupp in this offense (and to a smaller extent, Davante Adams) where these guys make their living from the slot. Jayden Reed cannot play outside and even though Cupp and Adams can, they are far more effective from inside. The Packers need a true boundary receiver.

to me Higgins, Reed, and Kraft would give us 3 receivers DC would have to game plan to stop, and all 3 would demand extra coverage to curtail there production, we saw that at times last season when Watson was healthy and Reed wasn't dropping the passes, we wont have Watson, so Higgins would seem like a smart buy

Yeah I really feel the two best candidates for Packers WR (not in the draft) is Metcalf and Adams. I think Adams has the potential at coming in at a lower cost (when considering trade compensation and $). Adams is also more rounded and versatile compared to Metcalf.

No way the league allows the Packers to not be involved on day 1. We would need to acquire another Round 1 selection or Garrett himself would need to walk out to announce a draft day trade! :beer2:

actually, I think the league likes blockbuster trades on draft night, affords lots of conversation, and a trade still amounts to being involved, I still have doubts about Guty doing a trade like that though :idn:

Announcing the trade on Draft Night would be sick. But I think keeping it under wraps for that long would be impossible.

I think a trade of:

2025 2nd Rounder
2026 1st Rounder
Kingsley Enegbare or Lukas Van Ness might be sufficient. Enegbare is the cheaper option for the Browns.

That's probably right, the rumors start, are spread, and ya lose the surprise factor, but who cares, surely not this fan, Garrett would be a hard pass for me, but I think it'll take 2 first and a LVN as that SI article I read said, and it would be worth it according to them, we pick late first, so our 2 first have less value than other teams in the mix, so a higher value player in return is also in play, a lot to give up, but our first haven't been that great anyway

I get nervous when talking 2 1st rounders plus because that is just so many eggs in one basket.

Myles goes down with a torn achilles and you suddenly throw 3 years of potential franchise shots away. I would love, love, love to get Garret. But there are also other ways to improve our team. We have plenty of options.

We have a ton of cash and 8 draft picks. We have 46 legit players on the roster already. Sign the kicker and it's 47. I think we can sign two key free agents and then you really just need 2 good players in the draft. Everything else is just fighting for a roster spot.

I think this draft could be a potential of trading up to get a real player if one of the higher end guys falls. I'm keeping my eye on Mykel Williams as an example. Dude is an absolute freak monster.
