observation
we left our pass rush in San Francisco, pressures are down and more stress is put on coverage, it's what allowed NO to stay close, if this keeps up against a better passing team we'll have to score a lot of points
to win, heck we'll be in shoot out games with even average offenses, we sure miss Clark, still this edge containment stuff is robbing the Smith Bros from what they do best, pin there ears back and rush
my only opinion about Burks in the olb room is that he is to dumb to play ILB, and if Preston considers himself preston Island it sounds like he's actually living in some remake of fantasy island too.
Kirksey has to stay healthy, only played 9 games out of 32 prior to us picking him up, 27 tackles leads the team, x 16= 140 plus tackles, but I doubt we can expect that from this often injured player.
so basically we have not affectively replaced Martinez and we actually hoped to improve that position with a reliable coverage ILB to go along with run stopping ability, instead we draft a clip board holder
It will be interesting to see if Guty chose wisely to deny Rodgers another gifted receiver, hope is that Adams will stay healthy, Lazard returns eventually, and MVS and EQB can step up with some production, MVS needs to catch whats thrown at him, and learn not to route himself out of bounds, just unforgivable for a 3 year guy to let his enertia drive him to tip toe the sidelines on so many catches.
with Clark on the sidelines and edge rush stymied with run contain Pettine will have to dial up more deceptive blitzes and stunts or our weak and inconsistent pass rush wont help our poor interior coverage, and we'll be gutted again this year.
