The other team didn't.

Yeah, I never thought STs could even be this devastating of a problem. I thought at worst they put us in a minor disadvantage.
I'm not into firing Gutey after finding some GEMS like Douglas and Campbell, best value deals in the league. And some draft finds.

I tell you. Josh Jackson, Oren Burks, JMon Moore, Cole Madison, JK Scott, MVS, Darnell Savage, Egleton Jenkins, Jace Sternberger, Keke Kingsley, Jordan Love, AJ Dillon, Josiah Degaura, Kamal Martin... They killed it tonight. All top 5 picks. Not a one of them did anything tonight. This reminds me of 2016 after we lost to the Falcons and I pointed out the lack of talent and ascending players and then we missed the playoffs 2 straight years because poor contracts and draft picks.
But Ill just sit here and sip my beer while you act stupid like none of that ever happened. History repeats itself and no one cares.

I don't even know what you are trying to say here? Are you saying the reason we didn't win tonight is Gutekunst is a poor GM?lupedafiasco wrote: ↑22 Jan 2022 23:50I tell you. Just so happens there is this curious trend over the past 2 decades of QBs on rookie or weak contracts winning the SBsalmar80 wrote: ↑22 Jan 2022 23:3414 points would've been enough.bud fox wrote: ↑22 Jan 2022 23:22So with that poor oline and bad receivers, his offense still outscored the other teams offensesalmar80 wrote: ↑22 Jan 2022 23:10I'll have no trouble ignoring folks like the pathetic version of @lupedafiasco who is showing up tonight.
Aaron Rodgers is such a MOST VALUABLE PLAYER that he only needs superior weapons, a fantastic defence, superb STs, a dominant running game AND a wall of an Oline to give him a chance at a SB.
If any of the above fail, don't blame poor Aaron Rodgers! He's just a victim of poor team management. It's not like the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER OF THE ENTIRE LEAGUE is expected to carry an imperfect team or something...
Does he have to score double the other team offense? Triple? Quadruple?
Again: What the $%@# is the point of having an MVP if not pay him a crapload of money to overcome shortcomings caused by us paying him a crapload of money?
Y'all seem to want a HoF level QB, along with a team with zero weaknesses. Bad news for you: A team with zero holes is only possible if the QB is on a rookie contract. Deal with it.

Arguably the #1 offense in the league, still couldn't put up more than 10pts.

Same. Aikman or Buck even mentioned it at the beginning of the game and I dismissed it.
Just add this one to the list of legendary playoff performances by our team over the past decade. Idk if I've ever seen such a bad ST performance. Maybe "the Bears are who we thought they were" game comes to mind.

Definitely the worst ST performance in my lifetime, playoffs or not.
Blocked FG.
Gashed on kick offs.
Awful punting.
Blocked punt for TD.
And the game winner, where it all comes down to a block, we have 10 on the field.
This one had it all.

Yeah I don't really put it on Gute. It's a coaching issue. MLF should've taken control earlier in the season, said as much in the presser
Why didnt Lafleur announce the firing of Drayton in the presser?bud fox wrote: ↑23 Jan 2022 00:09Yeah I don't really put it on Gute. It's a coaching issue. MLF should've taken control earlier in the season, said as much in the presser

Need to have the exit interview and have Drayton fill out some HR paperwork. "Maurice, where do you want your last paycheck sent?"

Someone should have reminded him a couple weeks ago that Baltimore fired their OC with like a couple weeks to go in 2012 and ended up winning their Super Bowl. Because their OC was an incompetent fool and you have to remove those guys before the playoffs or else they might be your downfall...

Is it hindsight if Ive been saying Gutenkunst has been failing in the draft for a while?salmar80 wrote: ↑23 Jan 2022 00:20No, I just love the ingenious hindsight of vultures enjoying bites off a fresh corpse.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑22 Jan 2022 23:50I tell you. The D actually gave up 6 points. Our abysmal special teams gave SF a gift touch down. Rodgers didn't play great but he wasn't alone.Labrev wrote: ↑22 Jan 2022 22:36Dude, no. The D held them to 10 points until the last drive, 13 on the day. An elite QB (AT HOME) should be able to top that within four quarters.
Rodgers may not be the biggest reason we lost or even the second but he was definitely WAYYY higher on the list than coach and GM.
Well, it would be hindsight. But it would uncover your unrealistic expectations and failure at draft analysis.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑23 Jan 2022 00:26Is it hindsight if Ive been saying Gutenkunst has been failing in the draft for a while?salmar80 wrote: ↑23 Jan 2022 00:20No, I just love the ingenious hindsight of vultures enjoying bites off a fresh corpse.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑22 Jan 2022 23:50

Football is the ultimate team game. Rodgers didn't need superb STs but average would have been good enough. I lay the blame for that mess right at MLF's feet for not fixing this disaster MONTHS ago. ST took 3 points for us off the board right before the half and gave SF a gift TD in the fourth.salmar80 wrote: ↑22 Jan 2022 23:10I'll have no trouble ignoring folks like the pathetic version of @lupedafiasco who is showing up tonight.
