Great topic and posts y'all. I think I agree with many.

If AR is here or not I think the same attack can be deployed. In short Pass rush and build in the trenches. Deploy a D that will keep you in games and find ways to score 20+

The D right now has stars on all levels. A thing successful defenses have. Up front Clark and Gary are dudes. Z is more then likely gone but find a way to keep Preston long term. What a team player that knew he didn't play well in 2020 and set out to be better. He's a guy you keep that doesn't break the bank.

I'm still attacking the DL and pass rush in the draft.
Wyatt or Leal early next to KC would give us some nasty early in the draft.

The elite pass rushers are more then likely gone (unless AR trade) but there are guys that could sub package later.
My dark horse if he gets all the legal mess cleared is Adam Anderson. Yes the off field stuff is bad bad but if he's innocent this is the guy you want. A top 10 talent compared to von Miller. I'm a firm believer you can never have enough pass rush

The talent in the secondary is there. True lock down Jaire. A young riser in Stokes (just find some ball skills kid) find a way to get Douglas back and this group is as good as any.

Safeties might not be set long term. I want Amos but Savage looked awful this year and might be a surprise move. Finding his replacement and a 3rd safety is a must. Jalen Pitre has started to get buzz. He can cover and flys around. Honestly to get on topic 😃 I feel FS is this teams least important position per say. As long that the player is assignment sure he can be hidden. If he plays like crap it's an issue but I don't think this guy needs to be a star. Amos is as sure thing as they come. Not flashy but never out of position. Savage looked lost at times last year. He's got the tools just hasn't put it together. Unless he plays at an all pro level he's not worth a second contract imo.

Add pieces up front and this D could be one of the best for the next 3-5 years easy.

I'll cover O in another post

Even if only a short-term fix, I think a more reliable, true FS would really unleash Savage to be a playmaker in that 3rd-safety role.

I agree. Let savage be a playmaker and not have a ton of responsibility. At the same time that window is here. I wouldn't pay him what he will want to be that so hopefully we get a room that can free him up

I also think Savage looked lost and confused last season, imo I think it's something to do with scheme, he made the all rookie team, and had a huge 2nd season leap, in fact considered as one of the best for the last 6 or 7 games of the season, so this decline seems like a mental issue, he still makes a lot of tackles, but that was never considered his strong suit anyway, I expect a bounce back season.

It just sucks becuase Savage was supposed to be that perfect "true FS role"

Why are these guys so freaking hard to find?

I hope you are right. He's very talented but might not fit what this D wants to do. I agree with NFC if he's a chess piece but his tackling isn't made for that. Hope he bounces back but if not a 2nd contract isn't worth it

Have to scout wrap up tacklers. Savage got away with so much as a pure athlete. Doesn’t fly in the NFL.
