1. The Packers offered MORE money than the Raiders. That should be clear.
2. Tae wanted to play with the Raiders. That should be clear.
3. Rodgers knew about this a while back. It had nothing to do with him continuing with Green Bay.
4. We got a 1st and a 2nd for an elite 30 year old WR. I'll call that very good any day of the week.
5. Admittedly, now the Pack needs some more reliable production from WR. But Guty will already have a plan. This isn't a situation where he's in shock and caught by surprise.

yep, looks like the FO was willing to invest 80 mil into just two players, I'am glad Adams said no, you can't do that at least someone drew the line on that insanity lol, this trade will help us, get a couple quality receivers and Rodgers will spread the ball around, we can also bring back Tonyan or another receiver.paco wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022 07:30No, I think the goal was to tag him and still convince him to stay. With plan B to trade him. But yes, this was set in motion a while ago. Signs were acknowledged but largely ignored. No one thought Rodgers would come back without Adams. Turns out he was fine with it.Yoop wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022 07:20we saw this coming months ago, just didn't pay attention to the signs, we did everything possible to get a tag on Tae, prior he bought a house in vegas, the goal all along was to first lock in Rodgers, then Tag and trade Adams, mission accomplished.
this draft allows us to use the compensation we just got from this trade to draft a couple young receivers, or use a pick in a trade for a established vet, time to give Rodgers some new toys.
And from all accounts this is a good year for WRs in the draft.packman114 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2022 19:53WR is just not the position to pay that kind of money. I really think he wanted out of the Green Bay cold weather. Now we can get Williams and another WR in the draft.
I disagree that a year one impact guy cant be found at 22 in the draft for a WR. WRs are coming in ready to ball these days. Rodgers needs to do what he has to do to get on the same page as THEM as opposed to demanding they learn how to read his mind. This is part of how Rodgers can earn his 150m.
2 new first or second round WRs in the draft, Landry, Lazard, old man Cobb, and say MVS (not excited about that) or someone who makes about what he will make next year, and Austin Hooper and we should be fine

This is pure speculation when the more realistic thing is Adams just wants to play for his favorite childhood team.
who actually knows what the Packers offered Adams, for his agents to say we offered more sheds good vibes in every direction, we look good and so does Tae, and so does the trade.
simply put it is better to have this trade then shelling out near 80 mil a season on just two players, if u's guys want to see Rodgers spread the ball to more them mostly one player then ya need more then just one quality receiver for that to happen, and this trade sets us up to do that.
This post perfectly summarizes why my attitude on the 2022 has taken a complete 180 degrees.Yoop wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022 08:17

I'm pretty pumped honestly.
I only said that IF Adams soured on GB.go pak go wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022 07:56Why is this gaining traction?

No I'm saying him wanting to play for the Raiders was more about him not fully embracing Green Bay. He is all business on the field but you never heard him talk about Green Bay the way some of the other players do. Not saying he isn't a great player or didn't care, just saying he wanted the Raiders more than trying to bring a championship to Green Bay. I don't see a guy like AJ Dillon or Aaron Jones doing the same. And Rodgers always talked about how special it is to play here. Adams never really talked that way unless specifically asked.Drj820 wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022 06:21Adams was a great Packer and has been underpaid. Packers slow played paying him while waiting on Rodgers and you think this is about Adams not being into tradition?packman114 wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022 06:17I got the feeling that Adams was never into the Packer tradition and he didn't really embrace Wisconsin the way some of the other players have. I also think the weather was part of it.
Also, I love how the pundits are saying how pissed Rodgers must be now. Saying he can't win without Adams. I would say they didn't win a Super Bowl with Adams so it wasn't like he was the edge they needed. Put the money into the defense and run the ball more.
If Adams wants to play for Oakland more than here, it's because something other than winning a SuperBowl is his #1 priority, unless he is delusional enough to believe he would turn that team into a contender when he could not get this much-more-talented roster over the hump with a far better QB -- which I can't rule out, because that level of delusional confidence in your abilities is kind of required to be a top WR.
Still, I want a guy who wants a SB above all else, and we are just objectively further along to realizing that goal than anyone can reasonably believe Oakland is. If Adams is not on the same page with it, fare thee well.

Adams helped the team go 13-3 multiple years in a row and the team came up short time after time. Not surprised he might think the path to a ring should be tried elsewhere.Labrev wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022 09:25If Adams wants to play for Oakland more than here, it's because something other than winning a SuperBowl is his #1 priority, unless he is delusional enough to believe he would turn that team into a contender when he could not get this much-more-talented roster over the hump with a far better QB -- which I can't rule out, because that level of delusional confidence in your abilities is kind of required to be a top WR.

I would say the guy that may not be showing he wants a SB above all else is the guy that just took 150m at 39 years old.

I doubt you even believe what you just typed, Adams has been a all in player, the fan base was ready to move on from Tae his second season, so instead of leaving and going to as you put it his fav team after that scorning from the fans, he resigns a 2nd contract with his less favorite team ( do you realize how unrealistic your post is? ) Adam loved having the best QB in the league helping him become the best receiver in the league.packman114 wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022 09:01No I'm saying him wanting to play for the Raiders was more about him not fully embracing Green Bay. Adams new the Packers couldn't pay there top two players 80 mil. a season and still compete, so did the FO, thats why Adams is a Raider, all this gossip from Adams agents that the Packers where willing to match that offer has not been confirmed to my knowldge, and even if the FO says it, don't make it true, everyone comment I've heard is designed to appease the fan base.
Adams' own agent has confirmed it. 3. Agent Confirms it
4. Yoop doesn't believe it
One group has the story wrong. My money is it isn't the guy in the Upper Penninsula who doesn't believe what the agent, reporter or FO said...but does believe this quote from Adams was real.

Ya, weird parting remarks, which player contract was he referring to< Rodgers, Campbell ? who knows, It came down to show me the money so everyone will respect me as the best, or I'am off to Vegas, the Radars, and my new home I bought a month ago when this was all rehearsed, now he's gonna act like some signed player stole his money, Love ya Tae, good luck except when playing us.

Turns out they could pay both because they offered him the same or more money. And no I can't prove it but you can't prove they didn't offer it either. We only go on the information out there. Multiple sources, not anonymous ones, have said the money was equal. He chose the Raiders over Green Bay. I don't give a flip about what he did the last contract. This year his choice was stay for a LOT of money and bring a championship here to Green Bay or go to the Raiders for a LOT of money to play with his good friend. If he was embracing Green Bay the way AJ Dillon, Rodgers, Jones, and many others have, he would have stayed here. I never got the sense he did embrace the tradition and legacy of the Packers as much as some of these other guys have. Not a knock on him, just an observation on why he would want to go elsewhere.Yoop wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022 09:39Adams new the Packers couldn't pay there top two players 80 mil. a season and still compete, so did the FO, thats why Adams is a Raider, all this gossip from Adams agents that the Packers where willing to match that offer has not been confirmed to my knowldge, and even if the FO says it, don't make it true, everyone comment I've heard is designed to appease the fan base.
I bet almost everyone on this board thinks that we caught a break because that is way too much money to pay a WR. The days of loyalty from players are long gone. The more we can reload the better for the long-term benefit of the franchise.
What loyalty has Rodgers shown? He came back after he got 150million guaranteed.packman114 wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022 10:17Turns out they could pay both because they offered him the same or more money. Jones? Hes on his second contract that he probably could have gotten more somewhere else on. Just like Adams who played through his second contract that he quickly out performed.
Dillon? Hes on a rookie deal. Where can he go at the moment?

what would you expect his agent to say, and still have a good relationship with our FO?APB wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022 10:01Adams' own agent has confirmed it. what would you expect the FO to say, and still retain a all in appearance with the fans?
I'am at the point now that I never expect to hear the actual truth from either side in any of these things.
They could have offered the same top dollar, and there still could have been massive differences in guarantees or guarantees after year one etc. I dont think the agent or FO talk necessarily tells the whole story.
