As for the Saints, I think they're securing their stars as best they can, going all-in for 2020 with Brees and then will do all sorts of restructures and cuts to get through a rough 2021 and do a mini-rebuild into whatever the next era is for the team with a strong base of well-paid stars.
They've never been timid about pushing cap battles into future years.
In many ways, the Saints Way is what many Packer fans clamored for; spend now - deal with it later. And so long as the cap kept going up, they were able to pull it off. But they haven't been more successful in terms of winning titles and I believe the Packers actually have a better playoff record than the Saints during the Brees Era. Saints also went 7-9 3 years in a row from 2014- 2016 . I don't say this to suggest what they did was wrong, I'm merely saying there's many ways to skin the cat and none of them have proven demonstrably better than the others.
Winning NFL games is hard.

I predict saints have a tougher time this year as long as their dome isn’t full of fans. That home field advantage gotta be worth a game or two each season.
Not like I’m predicting they suck, but I think that full dome is worth a win or two.

I said after the draft Williams would be the best of the three. I am obviously wrong on that call so far.
I also thought Williams would be the better back. Certainly was wrong.

I'll throw Atlanta in there as well. Very tough dome to play in, probably even more so than New Orleans. At least for the Pack.

Jones was always my favorite.
Williams always seemed to be along the Starks-Grant spectrum of Packers backs, the complement-competent type, who can do the job but won't be a real impact player.
Jones had elite testing and upside.

Jamal looked like a less physically gifted Joe Mixon to me. Or a smaller Leveon Bell. Williams in college showed elite level vision finding the hole and had a lot of patience behind his line for a young back. Unfortunately he really lacked the burst to make plays at the next level. He’s not a bad player. He’s kind of like Brandon Jackson now, just a really good pass blocker who’s a mediocre runner.

Swift drops an easy TD pass for the win, Lions lose.

I would have preferred seeing them 1-0 instead of with a big chip on their shoulder next week.

i DON'T THINK IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE, BUT BLOWING A 20-POINT LEAD IN THE 4TH AND THEN BOTCHING THE WIN IS A huge THING TO EMOTIONALLY BOUNCE BACK FROM.
sorry about the caps lock; don't care enough to edit

This Tampa game is funny bc Brady is having to deal with so many things he’s never had to deal with playing in NE...penalties, special teams errors, turnovers etc

I'm so mad that the 49ers clearly made moves to make their team better in the offseason while we were just content being second best.

That was honestly my "upset of the week" I picked the Cardinals to make the playoffs this year and be 2nd in the NFC West.
I have it on paper in the prediction thread.

2nd year QB. 7th pick overall who’s an athletic freak added to an already talented defense. Stole Deandre Hopkins for peanuts. The Cardinals are not going to be at the bottom of the league this year.

Absolutely. They stole Hopkins for peanuts?
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/av ... -receiver/ you sure about that?
The 49ers aren't scary either.

Still two games to go, but only one game has been decided by more than 14.
And the Packers are the top-scoring team in the league

I’m not ready to make any final judgements on them after one week. They whipped us last two times we played them. Plenty scary still to me.

Yeah the question isn't necessarily how good who is but how they matchup.
Just like I can be confident that we're gonna cream the Vikings, yet can still see us finishing 11-5 versus 13 wins last year, I can fear the 49ers against the Packers without being confident that they are any better or worse than last year overall.
