My girls bought me one of those cocktail smokers for Father’s Day and I just got around to trying it out tonight with a Wisconsin Ol’ Fashioned. Let me tell you, it adds a nice flavor/scent element that I really like. I normally do a brandy cocktail mix but the smoke goes better with the bourbon, I think. I mixed a Maker’s bourbon Ol’ Fashioned and I’m liking it a lot.

I hope Charlie Behrens approves and doesn’t exile me as an Illinois’er…
I've thought about getting one of those. But I'm still usually too lazy to even make a cocktail, much less smoke one. Usually just a neat pour guy. Unless its like vodka & cranberry or grapefruit juice. But then that's what pint glasses (and larger) are for.

Paco the sad-sack & alcoholic. I might have to keep adding to this and just put it in my signature.

You oughta try it on one of your pours. Super simple to use. The kit I have came with a butane torch so it’s just a matter of putting a pinch of whatever wood flavor I want (I have cherry, apple, hickory, and bourbon barrel chips as of now) and torching it. Let it sit covered for a minute or so and enjoy. If you want a stronger flavor, smoke the glass and ice before the pour so the smoke oil covers everything first.

Finally, after many years of talking about it, I pulled the trigger on new computer parts! Not top of the line by any means, but a major upgrade for me. Price finally was right to do it.

AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX ATX AM5
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6400
Western Digital Black SN850X 2 TB M.2-2280 (will probably pick up another one in time)
Corsair RM850x

I have a case it should all fit in already. But if not, I'll buy something. Going to use my current RX580 GPU for now and upgrade that down the road. Getting the new Starfield game from Bethesda as well in a bundle with the CPU and Mobo. Should have it all in this week and can hopefully start putting it together. Haven't built a PC in a lot of years. Used to do it a lot. So kind of excited about it!

My wife said she owes me for helping out with her mom's house. Might have her buy me a new 32inch monitor to go with it as payment.

Wife got mad at me tonight and went pouting to bed, because she didn't like an episode of a tv show we watched.

I apparently tied her to the couch and forced her eyes open Clockwork style. I live a charmed life.

USWNT loses in earliest exit ever in women world cup. Ripinoe misses the deciding penalty kick.

I have a 32" Samsung monitor. Beats 2 smaller monitors for sure. Got it at Walmart about 5 years ago.

Probably going to upgrade the graphics card first. Rx580 isn't going to get it done on Starlight. But monitor will be close behind.

Liking the build so far! Need more time to play with it though.
