I didn't see anyone post it this weekend, but Packers did make a hire. Ryan Mahaffey from UNI. Wasn't announced what position he would have.

Interesting. I don't think we lost anyone on the offensive side of the ball, so either new position or they haven't announced a departure.paco wrote: ↑22 Feb 2021 09:59I didn't see anyone post it this weekend, but Packers did make a hire. I know highlite reel vids always tend to make a player elite status, and these vids certainly do that, Toney is electric.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑22 Feb 2021 11:12I love Toney.Yoop wrote: ↑22 Feb 2021 08:47new packers mock has us taking Toney.

Would you rather have Toney in the 1st or TuTu in the 2nd?YoHoChecko wrote: ↑22 Feb 2021 11:12I love Toney.Yoop wrote: ↑22 Feb 2021 08:47new packers mock has us taking Toney.

Toney for sure; he's considerably bigger than Tutu, even though he's not at all "big." Isn't Atwell like 5'8" and 160 pounds? Toney is more like 5'11" 190?go pak go wrote: ↑22 Feb 2021 13:01Would you rather have Toney in the 1st or TuTu in the 2nd?YoHoChecko wrote: ↑22 Feb 2021 11:12I love Toney.Yoop wrote: ↑22 Feb 2021 08:47new packers mock has us taking Toney.

5'10 7/8 184 lbs , I just saw on one draft site and 5'11 and 179 on another, both places mocked him around 26, so he might not even make it to us, but he seems a perfect fit for Lafluers offense.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑22 Feb 2021 15:01Toney for sure; he's considerably bigger than Tutu, even though he's not at all "big." lets hope these guys play back to 2019 form, the ones we decide to keep anyway.

Sounds like we shouldn't be expecting Linsley back.
I know many weren't already, but this makes it seem more likely.
Hope he signs a record setting contract and get's us a solid 4th round comp pick.

I've got 3-4 Day Three Cs on my list, so I'm good with this decision
Round 4 comp pick? Let's think bigger! 2 3rd's for Jones and Linsley.
RIP JustJeff
I imagine Rodgers isn't too happy to be losing Linsley. Center/QB bond needs to be strong and he's always talked highly of him. Not that he won't have faith in another guy. But Rodgers wants additions, not subtractions around him.

Rodgers knows the game. He’s played with what, probably more than half a dozen centers at this point in his career. Lineman come and go.
You can’t pay everyone on the line. You’ve got Jenkins coming up who’s going to get a pay day and you’re already paying Bak. If you pay everyone on the line you end up in serious cap trouble like the Eagles and Cowboys ended up.

He certainly does. But betting he'd prefer sacrifices would be made elsewhere.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑24 Feb 2021 17:23Rodgers knows the game. He’s played with what, probably more than half a dozen centers at this point in his career. Lineman come and go.

who was the one that sweated profusely down there? or was that back in the Favre era, maybe Wale, any way they moved him to guard whoever it was?paco wrote: ↑24 Feb 2021 18:01He certainly does. we new we'd lose Linsley, so technically sound, but he does get over powered at times, we already have several that can play there if need be, and I expect we'll take a C in this draft, seems like there are a few in the mid rounds, I'am at the point of complacency concerning our OL, this OL coach has really impressed me, outside of Bak and Linsley this is a NO NAME OL and he has them ready to play every week, well except against Tampa anyway.

If thats the case it can come from his pay check. I highly doubt thats the case though. Hes fully aware his contract limits what we have for others.paco wrote: ↑24 Feb 2021 18:01He certainly does. I just have zero sympathy for that. Don't cost so much on the cap and you can keep players you want to play with around you.
That simple.
I forgot we also had Sackrell last year, too. Yeah, in retrospect, signing Preston was a bit extravagant.
