Yeah, more talk of how he plays the run well than anything else. Tackles well, more of a zone coverage guy.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑06 Apr 2022 20:43Sounds like Thompson might be a safety candidate; fast but struggles with mirror and c.o.d (his testing was very good in that, but the reviews I've read of his film suggest otherwise)

There we go.
I have long wanted a good 6’4-5” 300-310, was really athletic big next to Kenny.
That is just not a common build.
Dean Lowry actually matches that pretty well, but has always lacked just a bit on the production side.

I actually feel like we are sitting pretty at IDL with Kenny, Reed, Lowry (he has been rejuvenated in the new D), Slaton, Lancaster and/or Heflin as the back-end guy. Gahd forbid Clark goes down, I feel like the DL would still be a solid (if unspectacular) overall unit.
No problem at all with taking one high; DT value is always premium, and one of the best positions to be Dominant. But this is the first year in a while where I will not be disappointed with not taking one before Day 3, or even at all.

Lancaster was not retained and Reed and Lowry will likely be gone in 2023. Not trying to play games here because most teams are going to have long-term issues with depth. Ours looks to be pretty immediate, though, with only Kenny and Slaton guaranteed to be here next year.Labrev wrote: ↑07 Apr 2022 12:36I actually feel like we are sitting pretty at IDL with Kenny, Reed, Lowry (he has been rejuvenated in the new D), Slaton, Lancaster and/or Heflin as the back-end guy. most seem to have a late round grade on him, that might change with more exposure, fits how I like to draft DL, either very early or 4th round and later, Johnson would get a year of learning and rotation before being asked to do more in 2023, I think we need to grab one in this draft.

Yeah, it brought me to Phidarian Mathis (6044, 310) when I saw his sack production, but his workout wasn't that athletic. It's the cause of my draft crush on Eyioma Uwazurike (6061, 316), who also has interior rush production, but again looked a bit short on athleticism.
I'm on the lookout as well.
This guy we had visit who wasn't a combine invite? The workout numbers pop.

Thanks for posting this. Far more interested in the Top-30 visits than the Local Pro Days (given that they will have someone attend every Pro Day and will talk to most prospects there while attending).paco wrote: ↑11 Apr 2022 14:31Running list...

Interested to track virtual meetings, as well. Not very familiar with our history of those.
See, no Watson, I bet there forbidden to even mention his name, Guty probably keeps his picture and profile in his desk, takes it out and drools over it after everyone has left the building, wondering what he'll have to sacrifice to get him

Other than the vert, he's really bottom of the barrel of our athletic traits. Not eliminated, but juuusssst outside them or juuuussst inside them in most metrics.
Low bench, short shuttle outside of range both at the combine and pro day; 3-cone outside at combine, inside range at pro day; 10-yard split just barely ok at combine, not quite outside at at pro day.
Interesting test case on how much that matters in the mid-rounds there.
