Rodgers runs the show in NY , I'd make a small wager Sal that there both there two more years, the Jets figure out there OL issues and there in the PO's till they ride off into retirement sunset on new super charged golf cartssalmar80 wrote: ↑15 Oct 2024 11:38Luckily for Davante, he likely only has to waste this season with the Jets, as his contract has essentially fake non-guaranteed last two years for up to $36.25M per year. So, at 32 he's likely cut and can chase a competitor for his twilight years. And AR will likely do his damnedest to make Davante get way better stats than he would've with the Raiders.Labrev wrote: ↑15 Oct 2024 11:06I despise this because IMO Rodgers doesn't deserve another year with Adams. I wanted to see Adams get a ring before he retires and solidify his HOF resumé. The dysfunctional Jets franchise and choke-artist Rodgers probably will not deliver one to him.
But it will help pad stats for Rodgers, who talks more about winning MVPs than he does winning SuperBowls. He will go down as a legend in NY if he gets the Jets to the playoffs, even as a 7-seed that loses their first game. Davante deserves better though.
As for the Jets, throwing at minimum 3rd rounder and over 10M in cap for a player that doesn't fix the O's main issues in a year they're not competing for the SB seems more like a ticket-selling move than wisdom.

My exact reaction. I also have Wilson in two leagues and loved the high volume attention he was getting from Rodgers.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑15 Oct 2024 11:40I think this fixes a lot of their issues. They had the same problem we did. It was Garrett Wilson and some really other had WRs that couldn’t separate.
$%@# this move though. I had Garrett Wilson in two leagues. This is going to kill his insane target share.
Damn!
The dominoes are falling early this year!

Adams doesn't play defense or offensive line, from what I remember.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑15 Oct 2024 11:40I think this fixes a lot of their issues. They had the same problem we did. It was Garrett Wilson and some really other had WRs that couldn’t separate.

One of my favorite stadiums I have been to. My 2nd favorite stadium when you exclude intangibles like "history, tailgaiting, etc."
Brady's bid to buy a slice of the Raiders was approved by the owners.
Will make for some awkward TV, with him now officially having an interest in one of the teams.

Uh oh.
Just how bad is Aaron Jones’ hip injury?

This is probably more about an upgrade for their RB2 position. The guys behind Jones suck. Jones May miss a week or two more, but I bet Akers stays on the roster even when Jones is active

A week after firing Robert Saleh, the Jets completed Rodgers’ wish list by trading for Davante Adams on Tuesday. That brings to 10 the number of former Green Bay Packers the Jets have brought in to make their quarterback feel at home.
Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and wide receiver Allen Lazard are still with the Jets. Last year, backup QB Tim Boyle, receivers Randall Cobb and Malik Taylor, safety Adrian Amos, and offensive linemen Jake Hanson, Dennis Kelly and Billy Turner joined Rodgers in making the move from Green Bay to New York.
Heck, there’s probably a David Bakhtiari jersey somewhere in the Jets’ equipment room, too, just in case his knees allow him to play again.

OMG, I said a dozen former Packers, wow I wasn't far off, the drama in Jersey just keeps getting bigger by the day

You know what? I think Justin McCray, Rudy Ford, and Chandon Sullivan are still available. They could have a baker's dozen!Yoop wrote: ↑16 Oct 2024 05:53A week after firing Robert Saleh, the Jets completed Rodgers’ wish list by trading for Davante Adams on Tuesday. There is zero doubt in my mind had David B been cleared to play...he would be a Jet.
Clearly he isn't cleared.

The Jets clearly need offensive line help. Seeing how BakhT played at the end of the year with no practice really and just dominated, he can clearly still play.
What's also clear is he's not cleared to, his knee likely will never be able to hold up. Which is a shame. He's a good guy, and a damn good football player. Maybe it's a wait till playoffs and see if they can get 3-4 weeks out of it, but I doubt it. If he could play, he would be already.

If he wants someone to yell at, MVS was recently released...Crazylegs Starks wrote: ↑16 Oct 2024 12:15You know what? I think Justin McCray, Rudy Ford, and Chandon Sullivan are still available. What happened to make Josh Allen suddenly stop throwing bone head interceptions? Typically a gunslinger can’t work that element out of their game. His receivers all left town which is even more perplexing. I did avoid him in fantasy this year so maybe that’s it. Or is he just getting lucky? If not, I wish the Packers could impart this on JLove.

Jets Nation thought that trading for Rodgers was about winning. But it was just about making AR8 feel more at home and running his own show. If people think this is about winning, they are nuts. A team can't have this temperamental QB and expect to grande winning team together.Yoop wrote: ↑16 Oct 2024 05:53A week after firing Robert Saleh, the Jets completed Rodgers’ wish list by trading for Davante Adams on Tuesday. I'm happier more and more as time goes that we let Aaron go. I loved watching him all those years. But the ego has been too much.
