Rank The Roster: 2022 Edition
1. Aaron Rodgers (62%)[--]
2. Current (xx%)[--]
Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2019 will be in brackets.
Here's how this works:
Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll. You may vote up to TWO players (a change that was made mid-poll last year, seemed to work well).
Simply voting is not enough!
Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 15-20 guys, new players added in bunches every few days).
Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

Bak hasnt been a factor for two playoff runs and I have no guarantees he will come back as a strong factor next year. It will be a few days before I can vote for him.
I Do Not Hate Matt Lafleur
Alight, time to start arguing.
I'm sticking with our top weapon, Jones for my top pick here. Weighing Jaire or Kenny for my 2nd.
The list is at 19, I want to add another OL but I'm not sure who should go next. Newman, JRJ, someone else? Its going to be a while before this tier gets votes, maybe I just a few more days and add em both.

Went Clark and Jaire. Bak is a slight question mark because of the knee.
I'd go Newman.
I'd go Newman.
Clark is my favorite player on this team, so gotta go him. DL who can do EVERYTHING from stuffing a double team to wrecking in pass rush are All-Pros in my mind. Also, super humble and just keeps on improving while playing insane amount of snaps.
Alexander just shuts a side down. An All-Pro corner is super valuable. This year QBs won't be able to just avoid him with good corners all around, so I expect some INTs.

I think lacking the bumps and bruises Jones would have produced more as a receiver last year, he was bound to give up run touches to Dillon, specially so as the OL declined to backup tackles and G's, Dillon simply has more power to blast through minimal run blocking, Jones when healthy is quicker then he appeared last season and with the loss of Adams should see more passing designs favoring him.
Jones again gets my vote as well.
Jones again gets my vote as well.

I went Clark and Gary in that order but it's close for me. Clark is dude inside and a big reason Campbell and now Walker stay clean. Without him the d isn't the same.
Gary is our best edge and is only getting better. He tilts the game like nobody else on this d. He's closed out games and made plays in huge situations. He was one of the best 5-8 rushers in the league and will be better this season. That's insane if you think about it.
Jaire is elite no doubt but with 2 other really capable cbs our d can still function. Sure he was missed dearly last year and we are way better with him out there but missing Clark/Gary totally destroys the d unit

This is harder than usual at the top. I think the injuries are clouding everything up. I think I am sitting here right now for my Top 10:
Aaron Rodgers
Jaire Alexander
David Bakhtiari
Kenny Clark
Rashan Gary
Elgton Jenkins
De'Vondre Campbell
AJ Dillon
Aaron Jones
Preston Smith

If we are going projection, I believe Rashan Gary will be the most highlighted and decorated player on defense in 2022.
If we are going on past and build up of past, I went with Kenny Clark and Jaire Alexander.
The sacks didn't follow Gary in 2022. But my goodness did he impact plays. He also came through at pivotal moments (like the end of the 49ers game that should have sealed the deal on that 4th down stop)
Rashan Gary is ascending to an amazing player.

Jaire. But Clark is close.

I feel like Campbell and Jenkins should be in the same tier, with Gary just ahead of them.

I chose Kenny and Jaire, but Kenny first. I think next year Jaire could be at 2.
Wisconsin Cheese Is Better Than California Cheese!
It seems many are giving Bak the injury discount which I can understand, but I am counting on him being fully healthy, so I have taken that out of the equation. Beyond that, here is the question I have asked myself with our three biggest stars:
How many other LTs in the NFL would you rather have than Bak?
How many other CBs in the NFL would you rather have than Jaire?
How many other DTs in the NFL would you rather have than Kenny?
We could argue this up and down, but in my mind, Kenny Clark has the most competition NFL-wide. Bak and Jaire are more unicorn than Kenny is. I also want to clearly state that this is almost painful to have to provide a reason to pick between these three because they really are one tier in my mind and all so clearly important to the Packers. It's just, if I have to rank them, that is how I am doing it.

I actually think that is kind of irrelevant.NCF wrote: ↑03 May 2022 14:36It seems many are giving Bak the injury discount which I can understand, but I am counting on him being fully healthy, so I have taken that out of the equation. I don't think Kenny Clark is any more or less valuable to our team just because Aaron Donald is more valuable to the Rams.
Nor should Jaire be given any brownie points because we kind of don't have that first ballot island CB right now like we've had at times in the past.

It's make your pick and explain why, not make your pick and defend it
It's a method of differentiation within a very tight tier. I'm sure your reasoning is so much more relevant.BF004 wrote: ↑03 May 2022 14:43I actually think that is kind of irrelevant.NCF wrote: ↑03 May 2022 14:36It seems many are giving Bak the injury discount which I can understand, but I am counting on him being fully healthy, so I have taken that out of the equation. The Packers lunatic fringe is more visible because of sheer numbers. The Packers have one of the largest fan bases in all of sports. If the fringe percentage is the same as with other teams, then we end up with larger volumes of nut jobs. - JustJeff
