Rank The Roster: 2022 Edition
1. Aaron Rodgers (62%)[--]
2. Kenny Clark (43%)[+3]
3. Jaire Alexander (44%)[--]
4. Current (xx%)[--]
Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2019 will be in brackets.
Here's how this works:
Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll. You may vote up to TWO players (a change that was made mid-poll last year, seemed to work well).
Simply voting is not enough!
Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 15-20 guys, new players added in bunches every few days).
Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

My order right now is:
Jones
Bak
Jenkins
Gary
Dillon
Campbell
Jones
Bak
Jenkins
Gary
Dillon
Campbell
Bak is the last one on that superstar tier for me. He's vote number one. After that, I think you have Rashan Gary and Elgton Jenkins on their own mini-tier knocking on the door to ascend to that superstar tier. After that, it's more muddled again, but I think the group of Campbell, Preston, Amos, and the RB's make up that next wave. Undecided on how to order them, but I think, right now, I'd put Campbell on top of that list.

I'm only voting Bakh this time around. End of my top tier. Doesn't make sense to give a second, equivalent vote to someone in a new tier.

I'am sticking with Aaron Jones, I expect the increased production as a receiver we didn't see last year.
I also expect a increase in sacks from Gary, so he's my #2 today
Bakh
Jenkins
Campbell

Bahk is going to be 31 by the end of september next year.
Bahk has had one of the worst return efforts from an ACL surgery I have seen in years for any NFL player.
Seriously, when is the last time we saw a guy not be ready 13+ months later?
Bahk needs less time on tricked out golf carts with 12, and more time rehabbing or sitting with an ice pack.
After two missed appearances during critical playoff runs...I will believe Bahk is the same LT as he was pre-injury when I see it.
He isnt getting younger.

You did see it. At least for one half you sure did in Detroit. It was night and day difference watching him play LT vs anyone else we trotted out there last year.Drj820 wrote: ↑05 May 2022 10:35Bahk is going to be 31 by the end of september next year.

There was a ton of discussion on this last year after things went the way they did, but it sounds like it was his second surgery that caused the issues for him. I don't know if they could have done that at the same time of the ACL repair, but if so, sure seems that they should have. A lot of hypotheticals. With swelling, fluid, and pain management as the primary issues we heard over and over, I just don't have the concerns that another 7 months of rest won't allow him to be the guy we know and love.

Clark and Alexander could be their own mini-tier. The injury aspect knocks guys down a wee bit for me.

Gary... Again... For me. We have seen life without Bak Jenkins and esp Jones. Missing Gary would be a huge huge huge hole on the D.
Well when one of the guys is a RB that has double digit TD's 3 years in a row, led the NFL in rushing TD's 2 years ago, and is currently #4 on the all time list for rushing YPA for RB's (he crossed the threshold to qualify on the all-time list)...
Whether anyone is paying attention or not, Jones is on pace for a HOF career. Not ultra bright that a few crazy years is enough, but that's rare in RB's, RB's need the production and longevity. His production is good enough, he just needs to last for the long haul (hof = >2K carries, Jones is in the 800's).
The team committed to him with big $$ for a reason. Jones is just entering his prime at 28 yr old. His career peak year hasn't yet happened IMHO, and I'm guessing this is the year.
Love this defense of A Jones. The disrespect of Jones started by Mcdonalds Mike his first two years on the team (maybe if mike knew how to use a player like Jones, he wouldnt have gotten canned midseason)Waldo wrote: ↑05 May 2022 13:13Well when one of the guys is a RB that has double digit TD's 3 years in a row, led the NFL in rushing TD's 2 years ago, and is currently #4 on the all time list for rushing YPA for RB's (he crossed the threshold to qualify on the all-time list)...

But it has continued year after year.
Aaron Jones is a special player. His biggest problem is sometimes (i think due to his size), he gets popped so hard that he fumbles or basically sucks the rest of the game. This has come in big games and at bad times in his career. But what the player offers the offense has always been undervalued. He is a GREAT player.

Jones is a great player. I love the dude but rb is a position that can be interchangeable and not see a huge drop off. There is a reason qbs edge OTs make the crazy money and runs and ilber don't. It's not to say they can't be all time greats it's saying those other positions matter a little more. If you suck at QB OT Edge you are prob in trouble. If you suck at RB you can find ways around it
Also 30 is like the year rbs hit a wall so to say Jones is just hitting his prime I'm not buying. He's in his prime and GB is wise to limit his touches and share with Dillon.
Jones at 15 touches per game is better then Jones at 25 per game all season. That doesn't warrant #4 slot

again Jones was only available for 15 games and played at less then 100 % for a bunch he did play in, still had 800 rushing and 400 receiving. why anyone would discount that kind of production doesn't even register with me., Jones could pop 75 receptions this year, another 10 plus TD's,
after Rodgers Jones is our most productive offensive player, we had the #1 offense in the league last year with Jones not being a 100%, and you want to stack players above him that hardly played a lick, and we have no idea how they play this year, someone has the cart before the horse and it sure as heck aint me and Waldo
to me this exercise has always centered on production, or at least expected production, so why would I list up players I don't even know if they will play,? I mean I'am ready to list both of Bakh and Jenkins, but I don't like it, it was different with Alexander, he showed last year he's again ready for prime time, Bakh was not, and there fore we can't be sure that he ever will be
Also Jones is a low mileage RB, you know it as well as I do, so talking as though he's used up is simply not true.
hey vote for whomever you want, but your selling Jones short to somehow win this point
think like this, minus Adams last year and a healthy Jones and those 50 reception could have easily been 80 receptions, Jones has the quicks, agility and route running experience to do far more then he's been asked.
Lafluer said last November that Jones has played dinged up, to me that translates to having to limit a players touches.
Lafleur needs to get Jones and Dillon on the field at the same time. Make defenses unsure if they are bout to get popped with thunder or struck by lightning

Who said Jones is washed up?
What players did I stack?? I voted 1. Gary
By your standards then Gary should be the pick. He produced at an elite level and was healthy.
I'll go out and say NO RB in the league would be my #4 for the Packers. None.

I went with Gary and Dillon. Bakh and Jenkins and Tonyan are all coming off the same injuy. It does not compute for me that Tonyan and Jenkins are both docked for the injury but Bakh who had major problems in recovery is not. I think he will be the starting LT this year, but I doubt that he will ever again be the best LT on the league.
Gary is a healthy ascending player. So is Dillon, and Dillon is better than Jones for what the Packers need.
Next up Stokes and Myers

I am surprised at the lack of Devondre Campbell love. Dude was 1st team All-Pro last year. Pretty clearly our most impactful defender.
