Rank The Roster: 2022 Edition

2. Kenny Clark (43%)[+3]

12. Preston Smith (52%)[+2]
13. Rasul Douglas (42%)[+29]
14. Darnell Savage (42%)[-1]
15. Current (xx%)[--]

Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2019 will be in brackets.

Here's how this works:

Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll. You may vote up to TWO players (a change that was made mid-poll last year, seemed to work well).

Simply voting is not enough!

Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 15-20 guys, new players added in bunches every few days).

Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

There will definitely be a pass catcher worth more than #15, my money is on Lazard this year. Next year I think its Watson, I wouldn't mind going back to back here. Though I like JRJ as the next OL off the board. Big Dean should go soon too.

Lazard, then I'm split between Myers and Lowery.

If Lazard is our top guy....I think our offense is going to be pretty bad.

I don't think anyone believes he will be. It should be Watkins or Watson or both. Lazard is the safety blanket that is most likely to contribute in some large fashion.

For me, it's the solid starters in Lazard, Myers, Lowry, and Runyan. Then Watson and Watkins together. Followed by the first round rookies.

I think we all agree though that Lazard’s value isn’t just catches and yards, he does a lot of dirty work that doesn’t get stats.

So he gets a few brownie points there as I’m thinking he is most likely to lead the team in snaps, even if not in receiving production.

If we knew who the #1 guy was likely to be in targets and yards, they would get the vote. Guess I’m not fairly excited about Sammy Watkins being that guy. Kind of looking at that being Watson or Doubbs by years end to be honest.

I believe he will be the top guy. I'll believe it when I see it with Watkins. Watson, I am excited and optimistic about, but this is a rookie from a small football program we're talking about. For him, I am expecting MVS-type numbers, like 30-odd catches and 600 yards or so.

Unless Watson is a revelation ala rookie Michael Thomas with Brees, or Watkins does what he has not done for any other team, I think Lazard is far ahead of anyone else as the guy who Rodgers will want to throw to early and often; I think he'll crack 1,000 yards.
