Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2021 will be in brackets.
Here's how this works:
Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll. You may vote up to TWO players (a change that was made mid-poll last year, seemed to work well).
Simply voting is not enough!
Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 15-20 guys, new players added in bunches every few days).
Here's the thing.
There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

Looks like Dean was a pretty strong tier line. Not really sure which way to go. Probably Newman and Cobb.

Newman and Reed, Slaton on deck.

Slaton, Nijman. Trench Warfare.

I get the Yosh vs Royce arguments on the line; its not a stretch to think Yosh the better player.
But why TJ Slaton. What am I missing? I tried to look through the OTA's thread but it was just a discussion about Jeff Simmons for some reason.

TJ is getting love because he is a DT with a lot of upside. He also showed by making plays late last year when given the opportunity and Larry McCarren has been saying he looks really good in OTA's.
Usually these guys' stories continue to ascend. So there is a lot of reason for excitement for him.
That being said, I went Cobb and Reed. But Slayton is right there for me.

I went with Newman and Yosh
Newman is the last full time starter.
IMO Watson, Wilkins and Lazard are going to be playing together a lot. I don't know which of these 3 will be in the slot, maybe it depends on who the Packers are playing that week. Alternatively, the Packers will be in a 2 TE package. That leaves maybe 20% of the snaps for Cobb or Rodgers and so I won't vote for a slot receiver until all the primary backups are off the board.
Of the 3 ACL injured players, Jenkins is the most probable to start on PUP. Its also possible that Bakh also starts on PUP. Yosh is all but guaranteed to start on opening day. It is possible that he starts every game all season long, if Jenkins winds up going back to guard.
Next up, Jordan Love. It is not impossible that Rodgers gets hurt

I still don't understand the lack of love for Cobb given all of the "listen to what the QB said" stuff we have seen in almost every thread. I also don't think people understand how much the offense bent over backward to make sure Yosh Nijman wasn't going to be a problem. They helped him every which way possible. We plain and simple wasn't that good.
Cobb and Newman.

Yeah I don't get it either.
I'm just such a "if someone tells you who they are....listen to them". The Packers have told us Cobb will likely be in a large role this year. They also have never screamed to us that Yosh will be. They benched him the first opportunity they had last year. Was it a mistake? Absolutely.
But they are still telling us who they are nonetheless.

Also went with the men: Nij and New
Having a cheap quality backup at LT is such a stress-reliever. Newman I feel can build upon his rookie snaps, and we've been pretty dang good at developing OL.
I'm down on Cobb, because I have a feeling our WR room isn't set yet... And Cobb just didn't look as sharp and agile as a youngling -> makes it tough for him at the slot. If Amari can improve, or we bring in a more athletic outsider, I could see Cobb having to settle in a player-coach role, if on the roster...

After that O Sullivan Rodgers review Newman stood out much more as the weak link. I do not believe he will start this year, barring injury. Yosh got some looks in camp at RT, so maybe he slides over there or, God Forbidden, he is our starting LT.
Cobb will be 32 at season start and hasn't played a full season since 2015. A nice security blanket, but the years are catching up to him, regardless of the team talk.
Slaton could be our 3rd DL for snaps, at least early in the season.

I think Sean Rhyan will be our starting RG. And I certainly think Rhyan will have a better shot at being a starter this year than Newman.

As much as I'm sure Rodgers and MLF want him to be involved, Rodgers tends to give priority to guys who can hit home runs; Cobb is just not that guy anymore. I think we will start to see guys like Watson play a larger role in our offense as the year goes on -- at the expense of guys like Cobb.
Let's not forget about Amari Rodgers, whose improved play so far means he could see the field more, and it will likely be in Cobb's role. Whatever big role they have planned for Cobb, an improved Amari could very well slide into.
In truth, that's probably a positive development for all involved, because Cobb is pretty injury prone, and maybe this will help keep him fresh/healthy for the playoffs, where you want veteran experience when you need it most.
I am expecting something more-or-less the same as last season: some pretty productive games here and there, maybe even for a stretch, and then reversion to the mean. He tends to miss a few games every year due to injury. And then, yeah, he will probably start to take a back seat to Watson.

I have a really hard time determining that pecking order behind Kenny. I also am unsure about the degree of specialization they will use. Reed seems like a guy they signed for 3rd-downs. Will he get base snaps/run stop snaps with Dean/Slaton/Wyatt? I don't really see it right now.
Another thing that hasn't been discussed at all is, due to our lack of depth at EDGE, will we use more 3-man lines and/or sprinkle in Lowry/Reed/Wyatt in at EDGE in certain looks. That would definitely make him more valuable.

I really hope we use more heavy sets with 3 DL's and go away with the 2 DL's. It wouldn't make much such for us to have 2 DL's with our defense.

Same here.
I am biased towards Reed because I think that was an incredibly underrated signing. Loved him coming out of school, and always wanted the Packers to get him.

Reed's 1 year, $3,250,000 contract combined with us drafting a pass rushing DL in the 1st round don't exactly scream "TONS OF SNAPS". But this is his last opportunity to earn a longer term paycheck from somebody, and he has had some very productive years... I'm not voting for him yet, but would love for him to be another Guty bargain find...

The snaps will be there (40% to 60%) if we actually play 3 DL's. Our problem is we mainly played 2 DL's the last few years.
I hope we play 3 DL's and rotate our boys often to keep them fresh. Whether switches during the games or some players take more in a game and less in other games.
