Guaranteed for 3 more years? Interesting arrangement. Why is his job so secure ..... Why can't he get ousted?

If we fire him, we can blame things on him. Blaming people for things is fun!

Too much money made. His Title Town project will bring the city of Green Bat exponential amount of revenue for a long time. In terms of being a business man he has done an excellent job with the team.

I have never been a fan of his. He always wanted to make the area around Lambeau like around Gillette Stadium to make $$$, and he did that. But he is no Harlan from a team, football, or ambassador perspective.

I agree. He has been excellent on the business side. In terms of being the noble face of the franchise executive, he has not. I know Bob Harlan left giant shoes to fill, but all in all, I think Murphy has done a fine job. I don't know how many remember that the Packers had handed that job to someone else in house that lasted all of a few days due to some unforeseen health complications.

I kind of like a fresh face from the outside, but if they do consider staying in-house for this transition, I really like Ed Policy.

Yeah Murphy will leave the franchise in a great economic position, the brand is strong, future outlook is great, he hasn't hurt the football side by meddling with it, and there have been no scandals in front office.

On football side, he hired two GMs I consider to be good, but the big knock on Murphy is moving on from TT too late.

Overall, I think Murphy has been one of the good ones.

Harlan hired TT. Ted was hired in 2005 and Murphy didn't come on board until 2007... right in time for Favre Wars.

right, actually sworn in Jan of 08.

we'll look hard to find a guy as well rounded with NFL football operations as Murphy, Loyalty often over comes sound decision making, imo that describes the last few years with Thompson and also McCarthy, both men where extremely competent in there first 10 or so years then declined, Ted for health reasons and McCarthy for complacency, and Mark was in charge as it happened, so he gets the blame, still he didn't allow the team to flounder long, and we are far better when he did decide to act.

aside from football, he created title town district, another attraction people can enjoy after there tour of Lambeau, not to mention all the revenue it brings in.

IMHO we did well going outside and finding a football person like Mark to be the CEO, I hope we do our due diligence again finding the next one.

5 NFC Championship Game losses from 2007 to 2021 seasons. Not exactly stellar. Maybe 2022 will be different? :idn:

Tough crowd. For decades we hardly ever sniffed a playoff berth let alone come one game from a SB and folks are complaining? TBH I'd rather lose those games than the SB. I still cannot/will not watch "highlights" from SB 32.

It's popular to blame things on Murphy these days. Gotta have a lightning rod for fan rage, no matter whether deserving or not. For some reason I'm not seeing RingoCStarrQB or anyone else crapping on Bob Harlan for all these playoff losses and for winning only 1 SB with a HoF QB...

Nope. Can't blame Bob Harlan because he gave full authority to his GMs. Have to blame the GMs and coaches and players for the post SB31 losses instead.

Murphy doesn't give full authority to his GMs?

Murphy fired McCarthy. Thompson fired Sherman.

I wish Murphy's coaching was better.

To say that five (count them, five) NFCCG losses is not exactly stellar is to disregard that the Packers made it to FIVE NFCCGs.

How many teams can say that? Pretty short list.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!
