Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2021 will be in brackets.

Here's how this works:

Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll. You may vote up to TWO players (a change that was made mid-poll last year, seemed to work well).

Simply voting is not enough!

Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 15-20 guys, new players added in bunches every few days).

Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

Barnes and Hill

Guys as talented as Hill find a way on to the field and make plays. A RB that can jump cut isn't going to ride the pines and do nothing. Not sure he's going to KR anymore, but I bet he's our PR, in addition to offensive work he gets. I think Hill is the most likely to find himself in the top 10 one day of anyone left. Hill is one of the rare guys that has looked like a future star from day 1, even if the backfield is crowded, he flashed. Not unlike Jones.

Barnes and Nixon. Two unheralded players that are going to contribute 2022 defense way more than many are giving credit for. Nixon (and Barnes, for that matter) are also thought to be Special Teams leaders and stalwarts, as well.

I could see one of those weird things where we end up cutting Barnes or trading him end of TC.

Backup two down thumper’s just not valuable when we only play 1.5 LBs on average, give or take.

Been kind of thinking that since we took Tariq Carpenter on top of Quay.

I probably should be voting Nixon, he’s defacto 4th CB due to lack of better options, they do get a lot of snaps, and all signs point to him being a featured ST player.

I'm tossing a vote Tyler Davis' way. Gut feeling he makes it an continues to flourish on ST and get opportunities in the offense.

This is a very squishy area for sure. I could vote for any of T. Davis, deQuara, Hill, Rhyan (vote 1), Nixon (2) and could be persuaded to vote for any of Barnes, Enagbare, Rodgers, or Dafney.

I think deQuara will end up being my next vote; I think he has the talent to outplay this range and coming into the season both mentally and physically ready could facilitate a jump in production.

Barnes and Hill, I expect to see more hybrid 34 base, 3 downs two up fronts, and 2 lbers, having 2 coverage ILBs eliminates sub packages, less nickel and dime groups.

and we always been able to use 3 RB's.

Nixon, Davis, and Rhyan on deck

I chose Davis and Rhyan.

I think that Tonyan will be ready to start in September but maybe not and maybe they limit his reps.

Rhyan has an outside chance of starting at RG.
