Just doing individual work. Let's see how the knee responds before we throw any parades.
Good news, but temper expectations.

Rimshot Slapfight Waiting
There is a 6 week rule related to PUP. Don't ask me what the rule states or means. Go PACK Go.
New rule this year… it’s 4 weeks now.

Hell ya! Better than a swift kick in the ass!
He has been rehabbing and out there doing work with the PUP/Injured group. I would say the team thinks his knee will respond well if they took him off the PUP. If it doesn't at this point, it may one of those career enders.

By him doing just individual work I mean he will be doing no team work today. He is taking his first actual practice reps in 2 years, so it's great, but I am not going to be thinking he is starting week 1 until I see him put some practices together going full and see how the knee responds.

Agreed, but this is cause to be at least a bit more optimistic about his chances.

Right now I'd say there is a 50/50 chance he starts week 1. All I can give ya right now. If he is still practicing on Wednesday September 7th, then 99.9% chance he starts.

What it means is that he is on the 53 to start the season. Even if he were to have a setback, they can't IR him unless it is for the whole season. They would not do this if they had any doubts. However this does not mean that he starts on the first game and if he does start he might only play half a game.
Bakh, Runyan, Myers, Newman, Jenkins - the boys are back in town.

There is 3 weeks before Week 1. This is a big step even if he only does individual drills this entire week.

Or Bakh, Jenkins, Myers, Runyan, Yosh.
Yes, Runyan can play RG. Nothing against Newman, I just want the best 5 on the field. And I feel those are the best 5.
Hopefully they have the choices to make. Good to see Bakh with a helmet on in practice. Christian Watson out there making plays in team drills too!

We’ve never seen Yosh at RT.
I’d rather just go with the growing pains of starting Tom at RT or RG and Elgton at the other

Yosh has been at RT at times in this training camp. You want Tom on the starting 5 over Yosh? Wow.
I like Tom as quality depth at all 5 spots, but I am not sure I want him at RT week 1 against Minnie's pass rush. That is a little much to ask of Tom and would be a foolish move IMO.

Runyan is a LG now, you bounce OL man prior to them establishing a position there best at, and leave them there except for emergency, Jenkins we know can play either tackle position, Yosh at RT is a question mark, we'll still have the best 5 on the field minus all the musical chairs.

I think I’d rather Yosh still focus 100% at LT, likely we’ll be needing him this year at some point I’m sure. Never seen him at RT in a game, so yeah, I’d just roll with Tom, Newman and Elgton on the two right side positions.
And I’d probably prefer to just go with Tom now over Newman, Newman may potentially be a hair better now, but I’m guessing that won’t be true by November, so I’d rather to push it now.

I don’t follow, what does anything I said have to do with Runyan?

I'm with ya on Tom over Newman at RG if that becomes the choice.
I just don't have Newman or Tom as part of the best 5 OL. I like both as quality depth.
Put 'em where ever you like, but I feel Bakh, Jenkins, Myers, Runyan, and Yosh are the 5 best OL on the team. I'd like to see them all on the fake grass in that joke dome in Minnie on September 11th.

I dunno if Elg would take a move back to OG well, unless there's an emergency. Tackle is where the big bucks are, and it's his contract year... If we have plans to extend him long term, best not make him mad now...
I don't mind Nijman just backing up LT spot. He has been surprisingly good, but still far from Bak and Elg -good. I want the two best at tackle, there's enough talent that the guard spots will sort themselves out.

RT v G money isn’t too different, still LT that’s the cream of the crop.
I love Elgton as much as the next cat, but if someone starts dangling Larry Tunsil like compensation and Bak rebounds strong. It would be stupid not to entertain a tag and trade given our cap outlook.
