He's our Derrick Henry for the next few years.

This pick has LaFleur written all over it, but I'm okay with it. We needed a better change-of-pace than J. Williams.

Yep. Absolutely LaFleur putting his imprint on this team.

This is the comparison. He has to improve to meet THAT expectation, but I have long wanted a bigger power back as a complement, rather than these Starks/J.Williams guys we've been trotting out. This should really help us out on short yardage situations.

Big running back should help during December football.

His quickness is horrible - shockingly slow feet.

Hopefully our oline does a good job because I think he is going to need early holes to get through.

Same. Well Starks had some potential, but Williams is meh, his strength was being able put up his meh production from day 1.

I'm always a fan of RB's. Can't have enough good ones or variety. I thought we'd go the pass catcher type back (still could), but a big power hammer gets me real pumped.

I’m not crazy in love with this pick but I honestly have no idea what tape you’re watching.

That's who he looks like to me too. Doesn't run like Henry or some of the other comparisons I've seen like Fournette. North-south power. Maybe a bit like Lacy when he was good, tho he's a good bit faster than Lacy.

We will almost certaily see Dillon and Jones on the field together.

Hornung and Taylor 2.0?

I honestly never watched a minute of his play in the pre-Draft process. Don't love it. I get wanting that type, but I don't like the value in the 2nd round.

I see Chris Carson when watching him.

Not crazy about the need here in the 2nd but he looks like a contributor.

He is fine when running straight - whenever he has to change direction or use quickness it is slow. Slow in a league full of fast athletes.

Will be interesting - hope he becomes the best back in football. Of course we all know its a running offense league.

Obviously its just my first take but on the surface I am not a big fan. I think there are so many other areas to address than this. Apparently he was best available on their boards?

Must have been. Like others have said. Feels like a LaFleur and wanting a big back. Again, they could have traded back a little and still taken him. Even if the compensation was garbage, this is a pretty universal reach.
