Nixon Watch

Post by Scott4Pack »

I’m hoping above all hope that the Packers keep Keisean Nixon. He has proven that he is a difference maker as a return guy. The only two problems are 1) Packers have proven to be luke warm to ST game-breakers in the past, and 2) this is another guy they’d have to pay well.

Anyhow, I’m starting this thread with the hope that all Nixon-related news would be posted here. I don’t want to miss any of it.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!

If we're going to have a Nixon Watch, maybe we should watch some Nixon

Nixon is the only pending free agent I think the team NEEDs to sign.

Next up would be Reed, for me, just because the DLine is so thin and we need a backup plan if Wyatt and Slaton don't take the steps we hope. He was a solid player for us and shouldn't cost much.

But yeah, this thread is the right one. The only free agent that merits such attention being paid. I'm not sure how much a top return guy with some secondary versatility and usefulness gets paid, but we have to make it happen.

What do we think? $4 million? $6 million?

seems about right.
He has only earned 3 M in his career so far, guessing he wants some gtd money on this deal

OTC valuation for 2022 was $ 2.68M , but I don't know how they arrive at that number or how his ST skills are counted

the top 3 returners also play a backup roll on offense and defense and make roughly 6 mil average, Nixon I expect will want that, I think I read he had 280 touches on defense for us last year

If ya go by ol Bill Parcels standard of 100 yrds of field position = 7 pts, it's a bargain

The Packers lunatic fringe is more visible because of sheer numbers. The Packers have one of the largest fan bases in all of sports. If the fringe percentage is the same as with other teams, then we end up with larger volumes of nut jobs. - JustJeff

My first thought when I read the thread title was "what the hell does Watergate have to do with football". We are a product of our experiences.
