What if we take Jacob Eason?
Eagles just took a QB, Hurts. They have their own QB controversy.
Yeah, this is at least as weird, right? I mean Wentz has injury stuff, but he's young and on a big contract.
ESPN talking about putting in QB platoon packages? Are we going to college here?
(first post moments before the Jordan Love pick)

I haven't followed the draft in recent years with the closeness that I have this year, and I conveniently don't remember too well the years longer ago when I followed it religously to remember my bad calls.
Plus, my mentality at this stage is largely ~"most players' success depends on going to the right team" rather than "oh that guy is gonna be a stud/bust!"
With that said, I do remember being a --huge-- Kenyon Green proponent last year. His pro career thus far has been.... sub-par. =/

"We really wasted a 1st round pick on Aaron Rodgers?"

I don’t think I have one, theyve all come to fruition. I just might even have a better track record than lupe.

I remember thinking the same not only because of Favre, but also because I believed we already had a good QB behind him in.... Craig Nall.
In my defense, I was a kid.

I'm sure I've had a ton. But a couple I recall...
2014 - L'Damian Washington being the next Driver. Not drafted bounced around practice squads for a few years but never played in a game.
2019 - Sternberger. I was probably the most vocal about him. I was wrong (I still don't think it was a talent issue, all mental and heart).

I vaguely remember thinking drafting Brian Brohm was a genius move to save cap space vs having a vet backup QB...

In my defense, I'am here, because I'am not all there
just like Rodgers, we all new Favre was not done, so naturally we all would rather give them a player to win with then to draft there replacement, and we can't know what goes on behind the scenes between FO and these QB's, Favre had ruined his relationship with Ted just as Rodgers did with Guty

really, I thought it was a sign that Ted didn't trust Rodgers and he took Brohm to groom a season in case Aaron was a bust,
if ya want a backup QB a rookie would never be my choice.

It was a bad take in impressively many ways.... Hence my worst.

People need to bear in mind that we picked Brohm with a pick we got from trading away DT Corey Williams, and Brohm was thought to be the top QB in the draft for a long time and would go #1 overall until Matt Ryan eventually overtook him.
So in a sense, he had a shot at a guy many believed to be a Franchise QB (and maybe even the best player in the draft) essentially for free.
I'm sure he felt good about Rodgers, but you can still be wrong about players you felt really good about.
It would be like if CJ Stroud, who many thought Carolina was going to take at 1, ends up falling to the pick we just got from NYJ. I don't like the idea of drafting a QB, and I have a good feeling about Love, but if that happened and they pulled the trigger, can't say I'd really blame them.

This is your new worst draft take.
A hindsight defense of the Brian Brohm pick comparing him to CJ Stroud.

thanks for the update, actually 3/4's of the QB's GM's take round one are used car sales men before there rookie contract expires, or should be ( just a estimate) Wolf was great at drafting 2nd round or later to groom as backups and trade bait, and Favre never really had to worry about being beat out till he got older and we took Rodgers, I remember he had good things to say about all of em, Brooks, Brunell, I forget the other one.
I wouldn't, I think it says ya don't trust the one starting his first game and season, and that hinders there confidence, Brohm was a 2nd round pick, and anyone that dug into his personal life dropped him as a first rounder, thats why he was available, Rodgers probably laughed at Brohm, I was never able to put a finger on why Ted took Brohm, I know you have him rated far higher then I ever did back then, I don't even remember who had him rated as best in class.

I am only comparing Brohm to Stroud solely in terms of "QB prospects at one point expected to go #1 overall/first QB taken" and positing a scenario where Stroud were to fall to Round 2. Now you might say Stroud is a far superior player and that picking him would be smart while Brohm OTOH was bad and we never should have taken him, but that would be wide of the point I'm making here.

Think my last comment before we were OTC in ‘20 after we traded up, was ‘no QB, RB, or TE’.
That was our entire first 4 rounds.

2019, when the Packers were on the clock, I was like "Anyone but Rashan Gary!"
I also liked the Sternberger pick
