So he is saying guys like AJ Brown, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Roquan Smith and Khalil Mack are misses because because they didn't resign with their original team? And then us resigning Nick Perry for pennies his 5th year was a hit? I guess it might balance out, but probably gotta design that study better.
Ya, it's not a great methodology.

For example, these are the Round 1 RBs during that time: https://stathead.com/tiny/8cQ5a

I would say the hit rate for them is north of 50%, no where close to the 38% using 2nd contracts.

This draft is so loaded with OL I love in rounds 2-6, prolly 7. So many guys hit our threshold. Starting with Graham Barton really.

We have been so good at getting the misfit, conversion OL and building them up in a year or two. I just want to stick with that. It works.

Long story short, I just really don’t want to take a tackle on the first round… unless they can play guard. If we get a RT they way we got Bak and Tom, then awesome, we can see talk about Tom at center. Just hate the idea of forcing that move so unnecessarily, and a tackle in the first would do that.

Just love the idea of just hammering it, two guys day 2, two more day 3, probably end up with a combination of 1 starter over Walker, Rhyan or Myers, and another guy ready to be be a quality suited 7th OL when all healthy, then two more long term projects.

Stick to what we are good at, developing mid round OL, and don’t fix it if it ain’t broke, moving Tom to center.

Again, almost a worthless exercise if you don't project trades. Vikings are not taking McCarthy as 11.

Joe Marino had his final mock draft today on Locked On NFL Scouting today. Its his final mock he submits to the draft huddle for scoring, i.e., he cares, he tries. He is getting somewhat connected and hinted he has been holding back on a few nuggets he's learned for this. Was honestly a great listen if you wanna check it out.

I'll just reveal the first shocker, Patriots just going Joe Alt at 3. Chaos ensues from there. Either way, it was entertaining and certainly not the same old same old.

Kyle Crabbs just had Latham at 5 now too in his final.

To make last minute adjustments to forum draft challenge or not. That is the question.

They say the only possible good bits of info come out the last 24 hours. Was pondering this last night too but not sure who to drop!

for us to pass on Barton to take DeJean just doesn't compute for me, but it's just a mock draft, it'll be interesting to see how this shakes out, still doubt either is available when we pick unless we move up, and Guty just said he wants more picks, not less, so I don't envision that scenario to much.

Hours prior to our first pick always make me anxious, then anxiety sets in after I realize the gravity of what just happened, typically it's some 5th tier DT that has miss spelled out all over him, please Guty don't take a dang DL man with slot 25  or Guyton or Mims or any other players not on my big board :nono:

We won't be picking till after 10, should give me time for a power nap :munch:

Despite being vehemently opposed to drafting a WR, I have given thought to Worthy for us, and am basically on board. We see what Watson does for this offense, yet he is rarely on the field. Worthy is worthy of 25. It is a luxury pick, but with no real big roster needs, it is one we can afford to make.

I would have no problem with that pick. Its not my first thought but its definitely not horrible. If something like that happens, I will expand on my opinion why I don't hate it.

Well you don't draft a gadget receiver in the 1st.

Also he would be our lightest receiver by 22 lbs.

This is the guy you wanna watch for. Packers type all day. If we can trade back to like 28-32 ish, I'm all on board. Not sure if we should just take a WR in the first, given needs, without at least picking up another pick. Don't love the OL in the first on the board, pick up a 3rd and snag one there.

I should have been more specific in my thoughts. I wouldn't hate drafting the right WR. I actually know very little about this WR draft class in all honesty. Just because its not thought of as a position of need wouldn't make me hate it.

I do not want nor do I think we need an additional WR--but absolutely if a guy we LOVE falls to 41, go ahead with it. Legette or a character gamble on AD Mitchell would make plenty of sense; for a star that we think would be a Dude. No reason to take a body anytime later. I don't want competition for Melton and Wicks at the bottom (beyond what we already have). I only want a WR if it's someone who makes Christian Watson's injuries not matter so much (size speed freak with legit top dawg upside)

Speed Merchants frequently go Round 1. Marquise "Hollywood" Brown: 5'9/180, 4.27 speed, drafted #25 overall to BAL; Xavier Worthy: 6'1/175, ran 4.22 (new Combine record). Worthy is a Round 1 lock, call it.

Yet if it truly were some conventional wisdom not to draft "gadget" WRs in the 1st, then I say, p!ss on that. I am not going to be late to a good idea just because NFL GMs lack the wisdom/foresight to see one.

Apples and Oranges. The interest in Worthy (to me, at least) is not about getting a guy to catch passes, it is about his Superpower: game-breaking speed from an O player, and utilizing it to score TDs.

It would make no difference to me if he had that ability while listed as a RB, even TE.

Said Superpower will be utilized yes in part by having him catch passes but that's only the tip of the iceberg, you also to manufacture touches in other ways: handoffs, kick returns, punt returns. So he is not a WR. He is WR/RB/KR/PR (or ATH, or WPN).

Needless to say, what I am describing and envisioning is *not* Xavier Legette; him being a better WR is wide of the point.

Old man Mark M needs a SB as the top guy in GB before he is forced to retire. This is why we paid Jacobs and McKinney.

Im not sure if we feel we are a difference maker away that is expected to go 15-20, but if so...we wont be afraid to move up. Murphy has led a steady ship. Its time to win.

same here, WR borders on a wasted pick for me, whomever would have to be elite to break into this groups snap count, more or less it would hinder the progress of the bunch we have now.

I could see a move up to take a CB if Arnold, Mitchell, or DEJean fell closer to our slot, but I even have doubts concerning Guty willing ness to part with the pick it would take to do so

more so I could see Guty trading back a few slots, gain a 2nd or 3rd rounder and just taking the best fit OL left available, and there should be a couple.

we have Melton to stretch the field if Watson can't play and some very good possession receivers with Reed, Wicks and Doubs as you've said, just don't see the need to add a Worthy, again in my opion ya don't need to have the best at that position as long as you have several good ones, and I think we do.

Eh, depends if he brings something to the table the current guys lack. I think they would do well with an electric slot guy to make hay out of the bunch formations and end arounds. Jones' x factor is going to be missed, it doesn't have to be replaced with a RB though.

YEAH! Just LOOK at all these difference-makers who tilted the field with their speedy superpowers!
