2023 Season Expectations

I'm feeling a refreshing new start is in store for the Packers post-TT, Aaron Rodgers, Mason Crosby .... etc. etc. Pretty sure no one is left from the 2010 Super Bowl 45 team.
Still am not sure LaCoach is up for the job. Gutey seems to be coming around. Only complaint is the lack of any blockbuster free agent signings ala Charles Woodson, Reggie White, Santana Dotson, Sean Jones, Eugene Robinson, Bruce Wilkerson .....
Now that the draft is behind us, and Jordan Love is poised to take the next step ............ how is everyone feeling these days about the 2023 Green Bay Packahs? I can't wait to get to Lambeau again to see how the team competes with all the new blood on the roster. I view this as a clean sheet of paper for Titletown USA. Besides the Chiefs game on December 3rd, no other game on the schedule should be insurmountable.

The schedule is about as easy as it can be early. Plus playing a third place schedule will be nice. We should def compete for a wildcard spot at minimum.
Any achievements higher than that will be up to how good the defense decides to be. We can go far if they want to shut people down.

We can't afford UFA like that, where in hock to Aaron Rodgers for the rest of our natural lives, unless we live till where 99, the Reggies coming for our viewing pleasure are going to have to wait till our next go around
actually thats partly true, at least when it comes to bringing in a reggie and retaining one like him as long as we did, the big name guys cost to much, Z Smith wasn't a big name player till he came here and still cost a lot.
I disagree, Gute hit on Amos, both Smiths, Nixon was huge last year, Campbell, Douglas, I'am sure I'am forgetting several others, far more active then Ted was.

I expect to compete for the division, unless some team just runs away with it. But a 9-11 win division winner should be us.
Want to see some groups really start to improve. Front 7 on D in particular. OL secondly needs to get their &%$@ together and stay healthy.
Could take so much pressure off of Jordan if we can win in the trenches on both sides and he just needs to not lose games. At least initially.

I feel a lot better about the 2024 to 2027 Packers than 2023. This is a year to develop some young guys and clear the cap. My biggest concern going forward is OL.

I am certain it will be interesting, which is something it hasn't been for a long time.

10 wins. Enough to make the playoffs. Could take the Division. I expect the Vikes to come back to the norm on close games, by losing them. The Lions are in the hunt for once and duh bares still suck.
Eat the dead cap, get the young guys experience, and make a real push for the gold in 24

8 wins and a team that steadily improves during the season (baring major injuries) will satisfy me. LVN, Reed and the 2 TE's will need playing time and will probably make rookie mistakes. It will be Love's first year as a starter and he will make mistakes too. Gary needs to be ahead of recovery schedule rather than behind and Stokes needs to rebound from last year. If everything goes right 10 wins and a wild card win is possible but I am more concerned about 2024 than 2023.

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but why the greater concern for 2024?

Maybe "concerned" is the wrong word. I am expecting a good season in 2024/25 and a playoff berth

I think many feel that is a more realistic opening for a ‘window’ if you will. Clear we aren’t making offseason moves to go all in in ‘23, and we shouldn’t.

I like this.
Kind of want a Seattle feel from last year. Just be a really tough out, be in just about every game, and maybe even squeak out a playoff birth. I’d say division champs are more likely than wild card in this division, but still.
Biggest difference is we are even younger than Seattle and a have a QB with much more upside.

I'm not even putting a lot of stock or care into how many games we win. That's why this year is going to be so fun. If we are competitive in every game and it's become obvious towards the end of the year that Love and his young group of skill players are starting to gel and that we'll be a dangerous team in 2024, then I'm good.

I am expecting that we will play the season. I have no expectations beyond that for this season.

If we suddenly have another pandemic which results in the season being cancelled, I'm blaming you for jinxing it.

this team is so much better then people are expecting it to be, I think the hedging on seasonal predictions is just normal internet protection devices folks use, it's better to expect less that way they wont have others throw it in there face if the team stumbles, as though being right is all that matters.
almost everything should improve from last season (ST's at least the same), our OL should start out better, our DL the same, the young receivers will have a off season of grooming, the secondary has a new coach, and Love looks more ready at this stage then Rodgers did.
I predicted PO's a month ago and still do, if I'am wrong, who cares, but I doubt I will be

I think the ceiling for this team is probably 9-8 and the floor being 5-12. I think in all likelihood we end up with the same record as last season considering I don’t think we did enough to fix our weaknesses from a season ago. The S position still looks bad. I think a lot of the run defense will depend on the interior defensive lineman development and the rookies. I think we still have a bottom 5 WR room and bottom 5 TE room based on the lack of experience. We are asking a lot from positions that typically struggle in year one. I’m just not sure we did enough to overcome our abysmal redzone offense. On top of that we have a rookie kicker and a first year starter QB.
I think points are going to be hard to come by.

I expect we'll win between 7 and 11 games, with an offense that ranks between 14th and 19th by most metrics, and a defense that ranks between 14th and 9th by most metrics.
We'll have flashes of great play, possibly some blowout games in each direction. Consistency will be low, but competitiveness will be mostly consistent.
We'll be a version of the team we saw in 2022 in which a few games here and there along the way make the difference between playoffs and not playoffs. This board and Packers twitter will argue vehemently over whether Love is IT or A Guy.
Those are my 25th to 75th percentile outcomes
I will be vehemently rooting for a 76th-99th percentile outcome in which Love looks more like Jalen Hurts by the end of the year, the defense finally plays a full season rather than stinking for half the season before tightening things up and winds up in the 6th-10th range as a unit. And Jayden Reed is the missing piece to the offense that unlocks Watson and Doubs to break out while the OL looks more like 2020 than 2022 and stays healthy enough to work cohesively throughout the year. End result? MLF is back to 13-win seasons
